People spend years training in an actual schools to learn what you are asking to be taught on a website through a few answers from annonymous folks, many of whom do not have the slightest idea what they are talking about.

Do you really think it's that easy?

I know you think that if you can just land one punch that all it's going to take. What if it doesn't work and the other guy decides to fight back, then what are you going to do?

Lesson 1 for a beginner: Stop thinking like a beginner.

This is a very good question coming from a beginner in the martial arts. You are already practicing a philosophy EVERY dojo for every art teaches - self-defense, responsible use of force.

I am not formally trained in any art. I've been in situations that result in a tussle. (Of course, avoid them first, but sometimes...) I do not practice what I preach. Since if it gets physical, I immediately assume the other is trying to do me GREAT harm, I react in kind. Vital spots, throat hits, dirty tricks, etc.

There have been situations where physical action (but not really violence) is called for. Sometimes you have to help someone else from being harmed. One quick action can resolve the situation.

First, attempt verbal coercion with loud authorative commands. "Stop that."

Then, if necessary, use only the amount of force that is reasonable to secure the safety of you and others, and nothing further.

Now where at the part where I can answer your question directly. Try a leg sweep, kidney punch, or better - a lock or hold. Grab the ear, pull him down to the ground by it. Don't let go, even if the ear rips off. (A doctor can sew it back on.) A full body hold as you see on UFC fights is the next best form of submission.

Pressure points and such aren't 'real', and if you haven't trained under realistic pressure you're not going to react properly anyways, so nobody's going to be able to give you better advice than 'strike the solar plexus'. However, that isn't a sure fire win, and you will be BEING struck at the same time.

What you WANT is a grappling style, and what you NEED is to practice it. In most applications, if you strike someone, they're going to get 'terminally beaten up' if you win.

If you learn to wrestle, or take Judo, Sambo, BJJ (I'm sure there are others, but those are the 'big 4'), you will learn to control and subdue opponents without striking. Safer, more impressive, and looks better to the police in the event you're forced to fight.

I agree with first answer.

It will just make everythings worse if I tell because then you'll be so focus on pull it off and wonder why it don't work.

I would say liver, but again.... You won't have a clue on exactly how to land it and it will be all you do in fight while the other guy wonder why you're fighting like a idiot while he's pounding on your face.

It took me 4 years to learn how to pulls this off. No way in the world you're gonna to learn by reading a couple things online and never recieve a such blow yourself. I got hurt by this at least 6 time before I learned.

Plus since you're worried so much, it'll just make it worse because you already have "losing" mental set.

Edit: J.V. have the best answer so far.

ummm...learning martial arts from a book/website is quite difficult because you don't get constant supervision as you would in a dojo. Just go enroll in a martial arts school. I would recommend shaolin-do, ki-aikido, and capoeira.

also, hitting someone to knock them out in a particular place requires a firm understanding and insight of the mind and body, which can take a while to learn. And you'd probably need a martial art to learn that stuff anyway.

Use intelligence as a key factor in all phases. To lose a battle is ok if in it you win a war.
That is that victory is not always the answer. Sometimes it can lead to more problems in the future, ,reprisals etc. And heck in the martial arts world all kinds of weirdos can appear and want to kill you for ever.
That is not exactly what you need for a lifetime, always looking over your shoulder knowing you have a enemy bent on revenge and probably pretty skilled in ways to do it.
Today folks forget to consider reprisals as if they win a fist fight it is always over. Sometimes that is only the start.
Learn to avoid if possible, evade if need be, but if left with no choice - go as far as you feel you need to in order to feel safe.
Some old ways say Kill your opponent if need be.

Nah, even if you hit him, without proper training, you won't put a dent on him and will probably just piss him off. I suggest you try Iron Mike Tyson's proven technique of how to beat someone bigger and taller than you. Clinch him then bite his ear off, you can then add a knee to the groin, then finish him off with a headbutt. Then run like hell coz once he gets back up and gets his hands on you, you're dead meat.

learn pekiti tirsia, panantukan or jujitsu they teach good strikes that hit nerve points such as strikes to the carotid artery, instant knockouts and also if u think the guy your fighting is gonna strike and hes not gonna back down hit first but if u learn any of the above you can wait for them to strike as if u know limb destruction (where they cant move their arms) there sitting ducks

some great styles of hitting ?? first of all, thrust your enemy eyeball with your index finger and middle finger. And then crack your opponent's nut with your knee. i believe that person will have an excruciating pain but not beaten up. don't u think ?
even the expert fighter won't expect that kind of attack.

beginner Firstly get beaten ,
secondly learn not to close eye or blink while fighting may lose focus.
finally, build muscle and strategy means while fight learn to use energy and brain. While fight against 4 or more people better run for ur life. Sometime need brain to fight .
