Where to go in South Korea??

Question

I'm considering going to teach English in South Korea for a while. I have no idea what it's like there and was wondering if anybody could clue me up as to where the most beautiful places are etc?

Korea is a mountainous country. There are several mountain ranges near the border with North Kora. They are national parks. Additionally, as being a peninsula, Korea has many beaches.

Haeundai Beach near Busan is awesome. So is Mount Halla.

Korea is pretty beautiful all over, as far as I am concerned. There are some places you should try and see while you are here though. Jeju do, amazingly beautiful island. Been ther twice want to go again. Busan, you would never believe the size of the place from the feeling you get when there. Feels like a small city and yet it has a huge population living there, nothing like Seoul. Seoul, all hustle and bustle, but so many interesting things to see. Many, many palaces, museums, markets etc. And in between there are all kinds of places. I live in Chung Ju at the centre of Korea, smallish place of 250,000, but there is so much to see even here. We have a hot spring in the next town over and the largest dam in Asia. Plus the Chung Ju International Martial arts festival every fall. Korea is awesome.

The two biggest cities in south korea would be Seoul and Busan. They are both big bightly neon lit metropolitican cities,
However Seoul would be a more fast paced city with all the things huge cities can offer like more shopping , more traffic jams and korean music blasting out from huge screens hung on shopping malls. Its been korea's capital for 600 years and thus boast many beautiful palaces and traditional temples.Its much like the asian Vienna, except 10x bigger. You should also check out the DMZ(de-militerised zone), its the border between north and south korea only 30km away from Seoul.
Busan would be a much stress reliveving place with the reduced traffic jams, haze-free and natural surroundings. Of course there would be also lesser shopping. The main attractions there would be the Haeundai beach which is really crowded in the summer but quiet in winter , mountain hiking on the mountains near busan and the countless traditional temples.
As for the best place for teaching English now in South Korea I would say go to Incheon. It's a port city on the west coast of korea just a short train ride from busy Seoul. The korean goverment is currently aiming for Incheon to become an English speaking city like HongKong and Singapore to establish itself as a commercial and business hub of northeast Asia.

Why would they? Kim Jong Ill is a dictator. A dictators goal is to stay in power. How does attacking another support country keep you in power? Especially considering that North Korea has to rely on outside help for food and fuel. China and Russia would stop supporting them if they did it. In fact, China would probably invade them first to keep them from losing the war and being united with South Korea. It benefits China to have North Korea as a buffer. Kim Jong Ill is well aware of this. Kim Jong Ill is testing the world and does this every time there is a changing of power in the US.

You should try visiting GyungBookGoong (GyungBook Palace) in northern Seoul (Suh-Ul) the capital of S. Korea. It was the main & largest palace of the Josun era in Korea & 1 of the Five Grand Palaces built during that pd. It was a symbol of majesty for the Korean people & the home of the royal family - the Yi dynasty. Soon after the assassination of Empress Myungsung (that is her imperial title, her personal name is Min JaYoung) by the Japanese agents in 1895, Emperor Gojong (imperial title) left the palace & the Imperial family would never return. Today the palace is open to the public & the National Folk Museum of Korea is located on the site. The National Museum of Korea was there too, until it was relocated to Yongsan-gu in 2005. You should also try visiting JejuDoh (JeJu Island), 1 of the most famous islands of Korea. One of the island's nickname is the 'Citrus Island' for its famous oranges.

How about one fantastic reason for a travel event while in South Korea?

I strongly recommend you taking the DMZ tour at Panmunjom.

This is an escorted tour to the Demilitarized Zone, that separates South from North Korea.

You will come face to face with North Koreans, who are trained from birth to hate you, and will kill you without hesitation if told to do so.

You will get Goosebumps numerous times while there.

I have taken this tour previously; it's spooky !!

But, it's very informative. If you're lucky on the day you go, you might be able to stand on the North Korean side (inside) of the building which held the Armistice talks. (This is about 12 feet inside North Korea, just past the geographical 38th Parallel.)

You will constantly have North Korean Guards stare at you through the windows, with pure hatred in their eyes.

If the opportunity presents itself, definitely purchase for yourself one of the DMZ Barbwire Plaques. These were issued on the 50th Anniversary of the beginning of the Korean War. Be sure you get one with a serial number!!

I believe they will become extremely valuable once North Korea implodes upon itself.

So,
I would like recommand you to go "Everland" and "Caribean bay".

Everland is a huge theme park. You will have a great time with beautiful season flower gardens and zoo with lots of animals and animal shows. And also don't skip the parade and laser show with fire works at night. That is awsome. I am sure you will have a great time with or without riding. ( Because I don't even ride a 1 thing and had fun all day long.)

You should check this out. I really enjoy to be here summer time and also on winter time as well. Cuz I can in outdoor pool with tube in the warm water we call lazy pool.

South Korea is a great country.If you like trying out new and exotic food, South Korea has their fair share. Soju, their national drink is something that you shouldn't pass up either, that is, if you drink alcohol. South Korea has various museums. I've been to the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art in Seoul and I would strongly recommend it. and of course shopping:-))
