Yes, depression can affect your sleeping patterns to the point when you don’t feel like sleeping at all. It has a big part in your irritability towards others. If you’re not sleeping well, you become tired. This causes you to become short and irritable towards anyone who rubs you the wrong way. If you get too depressed you can become withdrawn in a social setting all together and feel like sleeping [or what you do to replace sleeping] is better because you can be alone. It’s not a healthy way of thinking or living, we need the company of others or else this too will cause us to become more depressed.

I say depression can [and will] affect your whole life. You’re tired, you’re moody towards others… how long will it be before your eating habits change?

I suggest you see your doctor regarding your depression. It’s not healthy to allow this [depression] to fester within; seeking help is the way out to a better mood and healthy living. Their are many options out there to treat depression so talk to your doctor about which method is best for you.

I wish you the best of luck in this fight, you will win.

I have been suffering from post partum depression for the past one year when I gave birth to a baby boy. I couldn't stop thinking about how my husband loves him more than me and how things might be better if he wasn't born at all. Thus, I stayed away from him because I knew that I might do something I will regret for the rest of my life.

Almost instantly I went to a therapist and convince them that I need help. Among other things, I've tried herbal supplements and other book to treat depression but nothing works like the Depression Free Method. So now I'm proud to say I'm one of the happiest mother in the world. My husband loves us both very much and I thank the Lord for the blessing he gave us.

Depression Free Method?

Depression can come in many forms. I suffered from it for 8 years before realizing that I had it. How sad is that??? It wasn't until I found myself in a church and at the alter where I got rid of it. Immediately the weight of my depression was lifted from me. Instantly I felt different. That was an awesome experience. It was at that point I realized I had been suffering. I just thought the sleeplessness and crying (was for no reason) was just me.

I am happy for you that you aren't in denial about it. Depression is a very strong and long suffering if you do not get a handle on it. I'm proud of you that you are acknowledging to yourself and others this situation. I think very soon you will be feeling much better and stronger. I'll be praying for you for Gods healing to touch your heart as you read this. Prayer works!!! ;-)

Yes to both questions... you should know that there are many medicines available to help you. Sometimes something as simple as a sleep aid might help. Not getting enough sleep can bring on the irritability and even more sleeplessness. If you don't want medicine, there is a range of therapy out there, too.

Being depressed doesn't mean your always upset but, then again all depressions are different some you feel body aches. And the sleepless nights you have could be that you have your mind too busy you think of a lot of stuff thats why you don't sleep good. That's my opinion

1) Well everybody's different, somepeople are just plan rude. When I'm depressed I just go somewhere by myself and think.I have my music on and dont talk to no one, maybe you should try something like that.

2) Maybe theres something on your mind that you need to let out. Dont do it to others, do it someone else. This may sound dumb, but maybe you should write out all of your feelings and then, through it away. It didnt work for me, but it is worth a try.

hit me back if this advise helps.

depression is more than mental it is a chemical imbalance, thus there are plenty of physical symptoms of depression. Including feeling tired all the time, but there are many forms of depression, yet if feel more back and forth like feeling tired all day but than having restless nights might be signs of bi-polar.

Yes to both! Go to your doctor and tell him right away so you can get back to being yourself again. Tell him you would like him to refer you to a therapist to talk to about how you feel!
