Just a little tidbit of little-known info:
If you were sweating like a pig, that means you weren´t sweating at all. Pigs don´t sweat (they don´t have sweat glands) which is why they like rolling around in mud; to keep cool.
As for the translation, AS and desperat are both the best.

Yo sudaba como un cochino is the literal translation, but I've never ever heard anyone say anything like that. You're more likely to hear, "Yo sudaba a chorros." Most espressions have equivalents in other languages, but they seldom translate directly.
