if the gene had undergone mutation,can it again be mutated?

Just an interesting side note. As you know, cancer cells have mutated genes. Typically as cancers get more advanced many seem to de-differentiate (get less mature) and look more atypical. This is because they are more mutations are happening. One or more mutations to tumor suppressor genes seems to prevent the cell from detecting and/or repairing genetic damage which happens all the time. This is referred to as genetic instability and is part of the reason for developing drug resistance.

This is visible evolution since the many generations needed to witness change occur in a very short period.

we are walking mutated genes
some are just dormant and others are not dominant.

and yes genes can mutate over and over
some can even adapt.

How do you think we have these resistant cancers now

and all the new type viruses

and why antibiotics don't work like they used to

doctors don't want to use them as much these days.

mutation is caused by external forces, such as radiation, or chemicals......so of course, having gone thru one mutation doesn't preclude going thru another if re-exposed.
