Well, the Proctor and Gamble company just won a multi-million dollar judgment against the people who had been circulating this completely untrue rumor about it. Turns out, the culprits were high-level distributors of Amway products, which directly compete with Proctor and Gamble.
Coca Cola is a publicly held company. It is not owned by the church of Satan or by the Mormon church (another popular rumor).
Ach! And these people were in charge of your school?

a lot of this crap came out of Chattanooga, Tennessee, the buckle of the Bible belt. Interestingly, the Coca Cola company in the beginning was heavily financed by Chattanooga Business men. Both the Proctor and Gamble thing and the things about McDonald's using ground up worms in their hamburgers came out of the same group in Chattanooga. The proctor and gamble thing has to do with their logo, some thought it was satanists.

I remember these things from even our secular public school.... I think proctor and gamble, the hype was something about the moonies? I think people get so caught up in media hype that they forget common sense

Wow, I've never heard of any of that. Of course, I always went to public schools.
Are they equivilating big business to church of Satan, or were they talking about literal church?
This is very interesting...

Wow, that takes me back to 1980 or '81 when religious conspiracy theorists started looking hard at the P&G logo and seeing satanic symbols there. That was about the same time people started calling what we now know as AIDS "the gay plague." (Sadly, some people still believe such nonsense.)

Satan owns index mutual funds, so anything you buy supports him in some way, shape or form.
