They were only violated by Constantine because they rebelled against the Pagans.

Fact: Constantine was a Pagan all his life until the time of his death. He was baptized on his deathbed. Moo.

Edit: Hey, Knight Of The Old Code, Jesus WAS a mere mortal. But you already knew that, didn't you?

Hi

Because that is a "Fact" that Jesus was a Prophet of God and not a Son of God.

This thinking is also the core belief of the Muslims and an ultimate reality.

They were killed by Constantine and the Holy Roman Empire for a reason which is long enough and i'd be ready to tell you about it , if u want to know , later . You can contact me on my email or IM.

Take care

If some people did believe that Jesus was only a prophet, they wouldn't be Christians. That puts them out of the realm of Christianity. Christianity isn't like a buffet where you can pick'n'mix what doctrines you want to believe in,and still call yourself a Christian. No one was killed off by Constantine for believing that Jesus was only a prophet. Constantine had nothing to do with whether Jesus was a prophet or God. It had nothing to do with competition with pagan religions. If believing that Jesus was God makes Christianity a pagan religion, than Judaism is a pagan religion as well, based on Isaiah 9:6-7 : "For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgement and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this." It sounds like you have been reading too much of the DaVinci Code.

Would that be the same Roman Empire that killed the Christians that DID believe that Jesus was the Son of God?

Why would they kill them as well?

Peace!

the way I see it, early Christians followed Jesus teaching, and that made him a Jewish prophet.
However, when the roman emperor Constantine selected Christianity as the faith of the Roman empire, the Early, original Christian teachings had to go, the make this new faith suitable for the status of the Roman emperors, who, as you might remember, were declared living Gods at the time of their rule, so of course Jesus had to become a God too, or he would become inferior to the Emperor god.

Many early christians beleive Jesus was a prophet and not the son of God because it was prophesied that in the end there will be a great prophet from the Tribe of Srael, and that Jesus didn't announced Himself as Soin Of God because in His time, that was a so called Blasphemy.

Sources? Come on! You know better...I will entertain a question like this IF you have credible resources I can look at. I rather suspect that the "scholarship" behind this is the same sort of kooky stuff as went into the Da Vinci Code. Ever wonder why people were so quick to snap it up? People love a conspiracy theory.

You know, of course, that the US government has been putting dilute concentrations of sodium pantethol in our water to keep large numbers of us soft enough in the head to believe in God so that they can control us through the churches, right? I think I'll write a book...

They weren't Christians if they believed he was a prophet and not the Son of God.

Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God and the Messiah. If they did not believe this, then they weren't Christians.

The Jews...or early Christians, believed that Jesus was a prophet, not the Son of God because they were expecting a mighty warrior, not someone who came to preach peace and humility.
