Have you been asleep for most of your life? You've got to be kidding! Northern Ireland, IRAQ...hell the middle east period, America's abuse of homosexuals...Hitler, the good catholic boy......the list goes on and on. And the best you could come up with is 500 years ago!

" The Crusades..... were not the brainchild of an ambitious pope or rapacious knights but a response to more than four centuries of conquests in which Muslims had already captured two-thirds of the old Christian world. At some point, Christianity as a faith and a culture had to defend itself or be subsumed by Islam. The Crusades were that defense."

==Remember also....
"The fact that the Protestant Reformers also created inquisitions to root out Catholics and others who did not fall into line with the doctrines of the local Protestant sect shows that the existence of an inquisition does not prove that a movement is not of God. Protestants cannot make this claim against Catholics without having it backfire on themselves. Neither can Catholics make such a charge against Protestants. The truth of a particular system of belief must be decided on other grounds. "

"Because it was both professional and efficient, the Spanish Inquisition kept very good records. Vast archives are filled with them. These documents were kept secret, so there was no reason for scribes to do anything but accurately record every action of the Inquisition. They are a goldmine for modern historians who have plunged greedily into them. Thus far, the fruits of that research have made one thing abundantly clear — the myth of the Spanish Inquisition has nothing at all to do with the real thing. "

Religion & Government have been together since their inception...they are Earth's Human Management System...created & maintained by bonds of people who enjoy the power and benefits of such. Those that do not agree with the results these systems put out for the prices paid, are deemed Independant and Damned. Go Figure! LOL

Have fun with your paper!

What do you think the Gospels are?

First and Second Century political propaganda.

Build a better, or more appealing, demigod, gain more converts, more access to resources, stage your own rebellion.

Look at the story of Ananias and Sapphira in Acts. Pure political propaganda to extort money from the converts.

The Bible, Old and New, is filled with nonsense like this.

The Catholic invention of Purgatory was used to extort money from grieving widows, parents and children for ages. "I'm sorry, but there was a problem on the way to heaven. Apparently there was an unconfessed sin or two. We'll need more money." They funded wars with lies like these, and built plenty of Churches, so they could fill more pews, so they could extort more money, so they could................

One of the basic tools of politics is propaganda, and one of the basics is delineating people into opposing groups - the Roman Catholics in the US were one group opposed by the establishment, and so the Democratic Party went out of its way to court them and make them part of the establishment, and a powerful voting block.

The establishment of the Anglican Church was another example - Henry VIII wanted a son (for political reasons) and the Roman Catholic Church wouldn't let him continually get rid of wives and re-marry, so he founded his own Church and forced everyone to become part of it.

In many places the head of the state is also the head of the church - in earlier times, Roman Emporers were declared divine, as was the Japanese emporer and many oriental rules in various countries.

For centuries the Vatican - the head of the Catholic Church - was also a major political power in Europe

And in American politics today, the rise of the religious right has played a significant role in the balance of power for at least the last twenty years and continues to do so.

No i do no longer have the mark of the beast, commonly portrayed because the numbers 666 or a lot less commpnly a capital Y with a line by the midsection in a triangle. The beast, portrayed as a scarlett colored wild beast finished of blasphemous names, with seven heads and ten horns is devil. the seven heads are the seven 'fallen angels' who left heaven to stroll the earth, later died and went to hell. I dont recognize who this woman is, likely a follower of devil, who bears a paranormal stone to summon him. i imagine that the international is done of evil, and likely that no longer being religios, having no faith ability you're purely acquaintances with the international (devil) and not in any respect following god, subsequently being his enemy. nicely now i'm getting what you advise, no I dont have the mark, i'm no longer an Adulteress, i'm religios and that i'm acquaintances with God. Im certain the beast, the devil, devil does exist yet i'm no longer acquaintances with it.

its not as much of a political tool as it is a political ideal. this country is based upon a strong religion and should stay that way. its a guiding force to do what is right and just. conservatism and traditionalism are the only things that we are going to survive with.

Catholics are a prime example of this. Scare tactics to put people under submission, taxes (in the form of worship--so cunning) etc. Just write 'The Vatican did it.' and you'll get an A!
