Hello brother, let's see how we can break it down, question, why do you do it. Whats the drive behind it. Thats the first thing that we have to deal with. Is it your desire for sex, have you had sex before and are you still having sex. The bible says in psalms 119 starting at verse 9, how to avoid situations as such. By hiding Gods word in your heart. also for him that knoweth to do right and does not do it, it is sin. You know that is wrong because you feel condemned. Also The bible says this That God is not the author or confusion but the author of peace. You have already told me that you feel condemed. So theres no peace in what you are doing I was there and i asked God for help and thats what he brought to my heart. Are you saved do you have a personal relationship with Christ if not read romans 10 verse 9,10, if this is not enough to help email me

The Bible never specifically mentions masturbation or states whether masturbation is a sin. There is no question, however, as to whether the actions that lead to masturbation are sinful. Masturbation is the end result of lustful thoughts, sexual stimulation, and/or pornographic images. It is these problems that need to be dealt with. If the sins of lust and pornography are forsaken and overcome - the problem of masturbation will become a non-issue.
The Bible tells us to avoid even the appearance of sexual immorality (Ephesians 5:3). I do not see how masturbating can pass that particular test. Sometimes a good test for whether something is a sin or not is whether you would be proud to tell others what you had just done. If it is something you would be embarrassed or ashamed about if others found out, it is very likely that it is a sin. Another good test is to determine whether we can honestly, in good conscience, ask God to bless and use the particular activity for His own good purposes. I do not think masturbation qualifies as something we can be "proud" of or can genuinely thank God for.
The Bible teaches us, "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31). If there is room for doubt as to whether it pleases God, then it is best to give it up. There is definitely room for doubt in regards to masturbation. "For whatsoever is not of faith is sin" (Romans 14:23). I do not see how, according to the Bible, masturbation could be considered glorifying to God. Further, we need to remember that our bodies, as well as our souls, have been redeemed and belong to God. "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). This great truth should have a real bearing on what we do and where we go with our bodies. So, in light of these principles, I would definitely have to say that masturbation is a sin according to the Bible. I do not believe that masturbation is pleasing to God, avoids the appearance of immorality, or passes the test of God having ownership over our bodies.

Yes, masturbation is a sin.
But it's not wrong because you are thinking about women - although that's not good either. It's wrong because you are engaging in a sexual act by yourself and apart from the marriage covenant. (NOTE - see the answer of God's Child right above mine - he gives good notations from the Catholic Catechism which better explain)
God commands that sexuality be shared by man and wife within a married relationship. Anything else (masturbation, adultery, fornication, etc.) is sinful and disordered.
Masburbation is also a lonely and selfish act. People do it to please themselves. Sex was meant to be pleasurable for two people together.
And as your post proves, masturbation can quickly become a habit. Since you have been doing it so long I can tell you now it's going to be difficult to break, but you can do it with God's help.
First you must sincerely repent of comitting this act and ask God to forgive you. If you are Catholic, go to confession and receive absolution.
Secondly, you must really have the desire not to do it again.
Thirdly, you must actively start removing "occasions of sin" to improve your chances of not falling again. That means stop watching sexual movies, throw away bad magazines and books, don't listen to sexually charged music or TV shows.
Fourthly, when you are tempted to masturbate, immediately bring to mind the image of Christ on the Cross. Remember that it was sins such as your which nailed Him there. Think of how He suffered so that you might be forgiven. Think of how much He loves you - do you want to offend your Savior by committing that ugly sin again?
Also, you might contemplate the purity and sweetness of Mary and how pleasing that was to God. Ask Jesus that He might make you pure, too. Ask Mary to help you by her example.
Last of all, if you should fall into this sin again, pick yourself up...repent...and start all over. No battle was ever won in a day.
I will pray for you. God bless.

2352 By masturbation is to be understood the deliberate stimulation of the genital organs in order to derive sexual pleasure. "Both the Magisterium of the Church, in the course of a constant tradition, and the moral sense of the faithful have been in no doubt and have firmly maintained that masturbation is an intrinsically and gravely disordered action."138 "The deliberate use of the sexual faculty, for whatever reason, outside of marriage is essentially contrary to its purpose." For here sexual pleasure is sought outside of "the sexual relationship which is demanded by the moral order and in which the total meaning of mutual self-giving and human procreation in the context of true love is achieved."139
To form an equitable judgment about the subjects' moral responsibility and to guide pastoral action, one must take into account the affective immaturity, force of acquired habit, conditions of anxiety or other psychological or social factors that lessen, if not even reduce to a minimum, moral culpability.
2353 Fornication is carnal union between an unmarried man and an unmarried woman. It is gravely contrary to the dignity of persons and of human sexuality which is naturally ordered to the good of spouses and the generation and education of children. Moreover, it is a grave scandal when there is corruption of the young.
2354 Pornography consists in removing real or simulated sexual acts from the intimacy of the partners, in order to display them deliberately to third parties. It offends against chastity because it perverts the conjugal act, the intimate giving of spouses to each other. It does grave injury to the dignity of its participants (actors, vendors, the public), since each one becomes an object of base pleasure and illicit profit for others. It immerses all who are involved in the illusion of a fantasy world. It is a grave offense. Civil authorities should prevent the production and distribution of pornographic materials.

The only thing in the Bible that has been said to condemn it was really about someone resisting creating children. I think as long as it does not become an obsession, it's okay. The problem is what you are thinking at the time. God says that if you think about adultery, you have committed adultery. Therefore, you should only think of your wife. If you have no wife try to make it a generic faceless person.

In teh books of Moses, there is a specific address about masturbation. "It is better to put your seed into the belly of a whore than to cast it on the ground." So the Bible supports prostitution.
There are specific rules for those who masturbate or have noctural emissions also in teh first five books. It says specifically that if you ejaculate, you are to immediately wash and if no water is available, you are to rub yourself with sand.

I hope these 2 verses help
8The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature[a]will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
Galatians 6
1 Thessalonians 4
3It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; 4that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, 5not
in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God
Personally I feel is more a matter of thinking what do you use your energies for. We are supposed to use our energy to nurture our spiritual side instead of our fleshly one. However, we are humans as well! If you have been doing it for 22 years, try reducing it gradually, and maybe using that time/energy for prayer. Exercising can also help (especially things that make you sweat).
Think it this way, the more you do it, the more you will need it.

The Bible doesn't mention the word masturbation, however, indirectly calls it "idolatry": sexual idolatry will damage our relationship with God and defile his temple (our bodies). Masturbation is against the biblical teachings which always talk about sex with respect in the marriage context and to have children. To pursue sexual pleasure or orgasm in manner not associated with marital intercourse that is love-giving and open to the creation of new life violates the will of God and it is immoral.
Moreover, masturbation is a dishonor and a perversion of our own body, which is a temple of God ((1Cor.3:6, 6:19). And the Bible says:
- "therefore, God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the degrading of their bodies" (Rom.1:24).
- and warns us, "put to death, therefore, whatever in you is earthly: fornication, impurity, passion, evil desire and greed" (Col.3:5).

The only thing "wrong" with masturbation is the guilt which society (particularly religious society) attaches to it. Guilt for being your natural self — whether involving masturbation, gayness, transexuality or any other harmless human condition — can do a lot of damage to a person's psyche. What's important is letting go of the guilt and being happy with who you are.
