I would like to know about the meaning of Anniversary gifts, I have heard that each year represents something (paper, wool, leather, silver, etc) thus, one should give something in this material to the loved one... Does anyone out there know these meanings?? Does anyone have cool ideas on what I should give. Our first wedding anniversary is in 10 days, and I need ideas!!!
Thanks so much!

For your 1st year Anniversary the traditional gift would be paper... some ideas could be(1) Books.. something that interests them even a poem book...(you could write in it your own little poem or love note)...(2)Tickets...(could be expensive but doesn't have to be) go somewhere together...doesn't have to be out of town...even to a nice movie together...(3)Board games or puzzles...this will assure time spent together :)... (4)Stationery...nice writing paper...something they would use and remember your love for them. I hope this helps!! AND HAPPY 1ST ANNIVERSARY!! :)

Here you go. Both traditional and modern.

You can go with the list, PAPER, but this does not mean you should give someone a ream of typing paper, or a notepad. Use your imagination. Give him a coupon for a night of passion, a ticket to a concert, a signed photo of a favorite entertainer there are hundreds of ideas all which can be part of this tradition. (And nothing says you have to go with it, NOR that you have to give only ONE gift.....)

For our 1st wedding anniversary, my husband and I went to a nearby bed and breakfast. We had been there before but this time we booked the anniversary room - it was romantic and fun, and a chance to get away without going too far. We now plan to go there every year.

One year....are you kidding. You have a long way to go before the good gifts come in. Paper for year one. Give your spouse a card.
