If someone is seeking to know the truth about something then they have to be objective as opposed to being subjective. That having been said, while no one group has a monopoly on truth, some groups have proved over time to be more reliable in what they teach than other groups. Siding with a group to get respect from finite human beings is a short sighted practice. Personally, I try to be like the Bereans in Paul's day because they knew that the eternal Creator of all things was the one infallible source of truth.
Acts 17:10 The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived they went into the Jewish synagogue. 11 Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.
1 Corinthians 4:3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by any human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. 4 I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not thereby acquitted. It is the Lord who judges me. 5 Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive his commendation from God.

We should all aim to present an argument in a way which respects the others point of view and is not insulting to the other because they differ in their view. There has to be no dogma in this world or all is lost. Having a respectful and mature way is better. I am not advocating neutrality or all is lost too, because apathy is why evil happens. But I am advocating trying to show people through respectful dialogue why they might be wrong. it is not about proving yourself right as an ego boost or that is wrong, but it is about trying to present a case of what you think is right because you have a respect for both truth and preserving truth.
Peaceâ¥
Additionally:
Always making sure your intentions are honourable or you could be wrong by virtue of your intentions! Plus wanting the good of others is a pretty decent place to start as a basic intention, don't you think. On the grand scale of things, Absolute Truth (Al Haqq) will always prevail in the long run.
Peaceâ¥

As I said in my previous answer, the only way to give the appearance of objectivity is to say nothing at all.
That wouldn't be very helpful.
In the previous example I gave, about the person who claims he can prove the world is flat, how would "objectivity" help? Should people say "you might have a point there" or "I will seriously consider your claim"?
Wouldn't that be deceitful and unhelpful?
Or wouldn't it be better for people to demonstrate their bias in favour of a round world, explaining why a flat earth isn't possible?
I would prefer people exhibit their biases, even explain how they came to have them. How else do we determine what people believe and why they believe it?
That's why I ask questions here at Y!A: to understand others and perhaps give them something new to think about.

This world is full of "shoulds"...still, objectivity is in the eyes of the beholder!
The sorriest of all people, in my humble opinion, are those that sit on the fence...any fence.
Stand for something or you'll fall for anything....
Good Heavens! If we all were objective , er rather more open minded about those & that which is different from us, we could all possible love each other on a very basic, human level??? Oh my!
