Well i beleive so yes, the truth does come out when your drunk. Feelings that you supress because you know that whatever you are feeling or thinking is wrong comes out and thats when people regret it and say i was drunk, i didnt mean it, when infact they did.

In your situation it may have been exactly what he needed to feel more comfortable and blurt it out, giving him the confidence to ask you out again the next day.

Although when it comes to sex and things like that, people usually say that stuff when they are attracted to the person but only want sex. In your case i beleive he likes you though. It was a date and not just a friendly lunch right?

Nope. The only truth is the fact that the person is drunk. I've seen some of the worst liars when they're drunk. They may lose some of the inhibitions, meaning they'll do things they wouldn't ordinarily do, like walk down the street naked, or come home, get out of the car and realize they forgot where they left their clothes. Sad.

Generally speaking your tongue does get loser as you drink. But due to the fact that you said he asked you the next day and he wasn't drunk, why are you asking? Clearly, drunk or sober, he wants to go out with you!

Yes. Many says that this is right that a drunk person says truth.
When the person is drunk then he does not care around his surroundings, not bothered with the real world. He feels free.
When one are in senses then one is aware of the real world around them.
Drinking it says brings relief to describe themselves. Men find it hard to express themselves even they are matured or educated etc.

No. But a horrible smelling odor comes out when someone is drunk. I think it's called vomit.

In my experience, sometimes people feel compelled to tell the truth when intoxicated. Other people feel like they can get away with greater lies. It all depends on the person.

Doesn't matter. Drunks are not tolerable. They think they must, just must , tell you what you, just have to hear. Drunks. drive you crazy.
