I`m having a problem removing some programs that runs during the start up of my computer. These programs affects the speed of my computer. For example the quick time player. All I needed was for Yahoo Messenger to automatically sign in during starting up my computer. I read it before but I forgot how to do it.

start run (type) msconfig and on startup tab remove programmes you don't want to run - make sure you don't remove any that your system needs.

Alternatively you can use the free startup inspector programme which is probably easier and safer:

Start > Run > Type in: msconfig

Go to the Start Up tab

Uncheck anything you do not want to load during startup (usually everything)

Start> Run> type regedit > navigate to \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\
Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Run

Delete anything you don't want to run. Do a search for any programs you're not sure about before deleting. Although QuickTime player will probably keep adding it self so disable auto update in the preferences.

the best you can do is find the programs setting and find the statement "automatically sign in or start". there should be a box to uncheck and check. in your case you have to uncheck it and press apply at the bottum of the box
