I am planning on moving to another state and take prescription meds. Can another pharmacy (maybe even another pharmacy co.) take over the account and fill my prescription, or do I need to see a doc in the new state and get a new order written?

Assuming it is a valid, active prescription, you should be able to transfer it from one state to another. The MD prescription license is a federal license.

Depends on a few things:
1. Are there active refills on your bottle?
2. Is the label still readable?
3. Are any of the meds scheduled?
4. Do you have a valid ID matching the name on the bottle?
5. Are any of the bottles beyond their expiration date?

Yes to 1,2,4: any pharmacy covered by your insurance
Yes to 3,5: Nope

I would get them filled ( or transferred)at a Walgreen's, or Walmart pharmacy. That way you can get them filled anywhere.
