Nothing is one of the most fascinating things there is (or isn't - you know what I mean). There is a difference between thinking of nothing and not thinking of anything. I've tried both, but was only able to think about nothing.

If you want to think about nothing, the thing to do is to concentrate on something neutral for so long that the object of your concentration becomes irrelevant. For example imagine a brightly painted mug rotating slowly and focus on that image for as long as you need.

Yes, it's called meditation...the quieting of the conscious to set the subconscious free at will. Very healthful thing to do for both your physical body, & the spirit Self, that's cooped up in that density most of the time. It takes practice to quell a screaming brain, but it's worth it!

If you are trying to do this during meditation, it's the hardest thing in the world to do! Try sitting cross-legged on the floor with your right hand over your left hand, thumbs touching, looking about three feet in front of you and count your breaths. It is very difficult to get far without a thought trying to pop in. When I first started doing this, I couldn't get to seven without thoughts intruding.

Nothing is still a thing even though it is not classified as a thing. Best described as emptiness. The only way to do this is to ignore all thoughts (a form of meditation)

Yes. It takes practice, discipline, and dilligence. I do it for meditation, and when I am around someone whose energy I do not like, or am affected by. I clear my mind of thought, and simply be, until I can leave the situation, or it goes away.

Do not listen to those who say it cannot be done.

As a person with a mind that can run fast I have taught myself to be able to clear my mind of all thought and just have peace. I can do it at will.

I hope this helps
