Or, do you think your children should be allowed to do whatever fun things they want to do, like other children, without the undue influence of your Christian Values or the Bible?

Children of any denomination aren't allowed to do 'whatever fun things they like' unless their parents are total morons.

No responsible parents of ANY kind would allow children to do whatever fun things they want to do. And further on that, who are YOU to judge "undue influence of any kind of values". OF COURSE, I moderate my children's activities based on my morals and my beliefs. Whose beliefs should I use? Yours? Okay --- I won't allow my children to do drugs, drink alcohol, have sex, shoplift, vandalize or do anything else illegal OR go to any location where there isn't enough supervision to prevent such activities. IF that is only a Christian value, then so be it. In my personal experience, I've found that unfortunately it is rare. Shoplifting has become a recreational activity for middle schoolers and high school students alike. Sex is a game. They play at oral sex like we played spin the bottle for kisses. Drugs and alcohol are just expected and vandalism is a case of kids will be kids.

Not MY kids.

If you are simply talking about literature and movies...I don't let them see anything that I feel would harm them and I base that on the individual child. One child can't see horror films because they give her nightmares. Her younger sister is fascinated with the whole idea of special effects and has no issues in dealing with them. When all the Harry Potter hoopla arose, I read the book myself first and found it no more dangerous than The Wizard of Oz. I'm now anxiously awaiting the last book in the series although my children have LONG lost interest.

"without the undue influence of your Christian Values or the Bible...."
Nope, nothing judgmental about this statement....

"do you think your children should be allowed to do whatever fun things they want to do, like other children...."
We just had a case a couple of years ago where a dad provided alcohol for his underaged daughter and then let her go out driving. She got in a wreck, killing herself, a couple of friends in her car and a couple of people in the other car she crashed into. Do you really think it was smart of him to allow her to do whatever she wanted?

My kids are allowed to have fun. However my faith does limit somethings, They do not play some video games and some cartoons are off limits. ( Yugio is definitely out.) All parents are limiting in some regard or they're not parents. But yes my faith does influence my choices for them, it has to or it's not what I claim it to be. My faith is important to me and is being shown to my children, not just told to my children. Yes we celebrate Christmas (with Santa and the true meaning) Easter, (first with Jesus and with candy) and birthdays.(with presents and cake etc..) God likes fun and has a sense of humor, He has to, look at some of His creations.

define "fun things".
I know the children of an alcholic who spend a lot of times in the pub. My children aren't allowed to spend hours and hours in glazed stupidty while their parents get drunk.
I have another friend who allows her kids to watch horror movies - at 8. I don't allow mine to do so.
Isn't that called good parenting?

Don't you have to? Kids like to jump off roofs, play in the streets, things that could get them hurt.

Also, as parents, the bible and descent values require you to train your kids to be capable valuable adults that you can be proud of. Letting them run wild in the streets only dooms them to a terrible life.

Define "other children."

I'll give you a backgrounder, young man.

I was an extremely accomplished flute player in my younger years. I don't know what you mean by implying that "other parents" have something to tell Christian parents that they haven't come across in their lives anyway.

OK. I take your point. Christianity is a bit of a safe haven for criminals. But we're not all like that.
