Islam says to leave non muslims alone. So why do the extremists try to kill any who are not muslim, and even many who are? Simple, it's culture and political. They should not be calling themselves muslims. Shame on them. Here are a couple of verses that prove it. Yeah, yeah, you're probably going to quote bad ones, but you also aren't going to read the ones around them that call for peace and to only defend.
"But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in God: for He is One that heareth and knoweth (all things). (The Noble Quran, 8:61)"
"God does not forbid you from showing kindness and dealing justly with those who have not fought you about religion and have not driven you out of your homes. God loves just dealers. (The Noble Quran, 60:8)"

your right islam teaches about peace and there are many examples in Islamic history that show this. Those so called muslims have not understood the Quran and those who say this is what the Quran says i suggest they read the WHOLE thing not just one verse and then make a judgement on Islam.

i do no longer belive that's actual. too many inconsistencys and straightforward untruths. and the certainty that no longer something shows up for the call, (that is a reasonably large tale... there would be some thing) the link to yahoo is "mysteriously" broken... I purely see no readon to belive it. I see no reason to think of its no longer completely made up. edit: the comparable article on a number of websites won't be a huge help, in spite of the indisputable fact that purely somewhat more desirable. its additionally exceedingly plenty meaningless. purely shows that some persons are ordinary minded and can't manage a remotely reasonable place. so he strikes from sociopathically zionist, to sociopathically muslim! mentally ill human beings changing their faith does no longer advise a difficulty. and between the hyperlinks, as Mark suggested, used the term "messianist" that's extraordinary. and that i ask your self whether what it rather potential replaced into messianic, which might clarify *ALOT*. a fanatically zionist "messianic jew" being switched over like that's *completley* belivable.

No, not after having read the Qur'an. It just supports isolationism, compared to America's policy of interfereing with other countries' business.

Surprising isn't it? Then why do they kill? Because, they have never read the Qu'ran in its correct context. Everything that we say and write has a context. Its when you take it out context and act upon it that hell breaks loose. And that's what they have been doing. They simply read and absorb those lines that suit them or their intentions and disregard all else! I guess they need some sense hammered into their thick skulls.

It is my firm belief that people will hear and people will ignore these wonderful statements and truths in Islam.
Mainly because if they accept the fact that Muslims are not evil, they feel they undermine their own faith.
By they I mean Christians ofcourse.
But its not just the Non Muslims who ignore these verses, its the Muslims too.
In Saudi Arabia for example, mosques used to preach 'Death to America! Death to Christians and Jews!' for many years until their own people, their own Saudi citizens, decided to join forces with AlQaeda or other groups and kick these 'foreigners' out of their land with bombings.
I was there, many muslims and non muslims suffered.
The story doesnt stop there, the Saudis, slowly realized what theyve done wrong.
They had never thought about standardizing preaching subjects in mosques. So they took the care to compile subjects that CAN be preached and things that cannot be preached in Friday congregations. So that helped, but it was a late decision in my opinion.
So what is all this? Ofcourse all of this isnt about religion anymore. Its about personal agenda. Personal hatred. And the need to find enemies to hunt down in order to feel like heros.
And extremists from both sides, use this personal agenda to fuel more hatred.

Like you said, politics. It's horrible that anyone dies violently. It's worse that people whose beliefs differ on relatively minor points of doctrine somehow feel that these small things justify murder. It is not right, or just.

Those are good quotes.
Personally, I don't lump all Muslims together. I used to (probably because I allowed myself to be influenced by negative media coverage), but then I became good friends with a Muslim and changed my attitudes. It feels good to leave any form of bigotry in one's past.

The Qur'an also says that its ok to slaughter a non-believer who has wronged you. The extremists are convinced all non-believers have wronged them, thus they believe their actions are justified in the Qur'an
