my cat, mocing, had food allergy. then she developed skin infection in its underarms which started about 7 months ago. we consulted 3 veterenarians already. the latest prescribed an anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal & anti-bac all-in-one cream (imflammol). although the skin problem is improving (there are fine hairs growing already) it never gets totally cured cause she keeps on gnawing and licking the wound evrytime her collar is removed which results to bleeding. the skin lesion is reddish. and wet sometimes. i dont know if it is itchy thats why my cat keeps licking the wound. is there any remedy to stop her from doing that? i really dont know what to do anymore. i just want my cat to live a normal life--without a collar. pls help.. thanks...

buy IVERMECTIN from the petshop.
inject 0.3mL subcutaneously into your cat. that is a case of mange. IVERMECTIN is the generic name for the treatment of mange. it is done once every three months for dogs and cats. for dogs, the dosage is 0.5mL also administered subcutaneously.

hmmm...I thought ivermectin was an oral de-worming paste??
I know it sounds cheezy, but you could try calling all pets on NPR.
When my dog had stitches, and could not wear a collar (because of stitches on her neck) we put a t-shirt on her. Not sure how your cat would handle that ( and you would need an infant T).
The other suggestion is bitter apple or aloe juice. They hate the taste of it. However, I am not sure how it would interact with the prescribed topical. Didn't the vet have any suggestions? other than a collar?

Ask the doc to give your kitty a cortizone shot. This has always cleared up my cat's skin issues. And keep in mind that most vets don't know what they are doing.

you'll have to get her a cone to wear around her head, she'll hate it but sooner than later you will be able to take it off because the rash will heal, you can get them from the vet and the pet store, 10-25 dollars or so
