I use both Firefox and Opera on my Macbook Pro. Lately, they've both started crashing several times a day. I've removed all themes, extensions and repaired disk permissions, but it keeps happening. Any ideas?

Try Safari. But I sometimes have the same problem. You just have to keep installing the updates.

I've cleared up episodes of browser crashing by emptying the cache. Don't know why, but it seems to work.

Also, do you frequent certain websites? Sometimes poorly written code will crash your browser, and web coders don't always test on a Mac. See if it happens while you're at the same sites.

You might want to put some of the extensions back or download updates.

Hope it helps.

To re-setting up Safari, you should do an OS X "Archive and setting up". this could shop your very own archives (Backup besides, just to be risk-free) and setting up a "production unit clean" version of OS X. here is the link:

Please re-post and answer the following:

When they crash, do you get an error message? If so, what does it say? Please be specific. Does Safari do the same thing? Is the Macbook still under warranty?

Then, we may be able to help.
