Im 23 and my b/f is 30. Im the only child and have always lived w/ my parents, you can say Im a little spoiled. He always makes fun of me cause I cant cook. Ive never had to, my mom has always done the cooking. I feel so young and immature sometimes cause hes so much older and more experienced than me. We are gettin ready to move in together and I want to show him that Im capable of doing these kind of things, so Im gonna cook him dinner. What should I fix that would be simple for someone who has never cooked, but not too simple that he would be surprised I could do. Does that make sense?

Did You say that You can not cook? That is it. The relationship is over. How do You expect a Man who loves You to tolerate anything quite so insignificant as Your lack of skill in the kitchen? Come off it girl. Do You honestly think that the way to a Man's heart is through Our stomach? That idea went the way to the Dodo and the Chastity Belt.
Tell Him that You want to cook Him a meal but that You are that useless that You couldn't find the boiling water in the cupboard. Ask Him to show You how to prepare a simple meal. We Men actually do like to cook (not just BBQ). We also like to teach Our girls how to do things..... in the kitchen. Let Him impart to You some of His experience and worldliness. That way if You do stuff it up it is His fault too.
If all else fails go to the cooking section of answers and ask for the simplest recipe that there is for a novice to prepare.

NB: Food poisoning is not an option.

spaghetti garlic toast and a cheesecake (the only thing that will really take long is the cheesecake!) spaghetti doesnt take long at all, just brown some hamburg mix sauce in with it boil the noodles and get some toast in the frozen section of the grocery. Then find a quick recipe online for cheesecake - looks like it took forever, but very simple. You can even add a salad! good luck - try some candles to make it romantic for you honey

creamy tuna pesto fettuccini. it sounds exotic, but is really easy to make and tastes great! just mix a cup all-purpose cream with 2 tablespoons of butter, a tablespoon of salt (add to taste) and off-the-shelf pesto (basil or parsely pesto will do)...add to taste, a two or three pinches of ground black pepper and simmer in low heat with fettuccini and a can of tuna. yummy! ;)
