It depends on why you are reading.
Honestly, I would recommend either taking a topic that interests you and finding it in the Bible or to just start reading. I am a fan of opening the book and seeing where it takes me.
All that aside...
I find Job to be an interesting story. It is also short and easier to read than other books.
Proverbs is full of teachings and is also relatively easy to read. Most bibical quotes from the Old Testament are from Proverbs.
The book of John (like the other gospels) tell of the life of Christ and His teachings. Romans (or any of the epistles) will tell you all about salvation and is a good follow up to any of the gospels.

A lot of the books are interesting. If you're just starting out, I would recommend any of the four gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These books give a clear portrayal of who Jesus was and His purpose in coming. Not only that but Jesus' teachings and parables are fascinating.
After that, I enjoyed the book of Acts because it shows the disciples living out and being bold in their faith.
In the OT, I enjoyed the stories of King David, which show that even a man after God's own heart can fall prey to serious sin. But, that just like David, no matter how low we've fallen, God will restore us if we turn from our sins and seek His forgiveness. I also enjoyed the story of Esther - a woman who, with God's power, risked her own life to save her people from annihilation. And the book of Proverbs is full of wisdom for daily living!
The amazing thing about the Bible is that no matter how many times you read it, God can reveal something new to you. He's always teaching us.

Revelation...
The connection with Revelation 4 and Exodus 14:19, 20 and 21. 4, 6, 24, 3, 72... 72 by 3.
72 Characters in the 3 verses of Exodus... mmm the possible secrets within that confusing and obviously metaphoric book.

There are two that are the most interesting to me, Daniel and Revelations. Though, Ezekiel is very interesting and rates very high. I love any book of the Bible and a lot of other ancient texts. But to start, I'd say start at Genesis.

I used to be fascinated by the book of Revelation. The book of James is all about the miracles of Jesus, its amazing. I was recommended to begin reading the bible by reading the book of James. Best wishes.

The book of Matthew is my favourite. It is the book that in chapter 5 through 7 is recorded Jesus' most popular sermon, called the sermon on the mount. A lot of Jesus' parables are in the book of Matthew and its a very good recoding of Jesus' life. Matthew was also one of his disciples. The book Of Isaiah is also a good book from chapter 40 to the end. God is speaking and it gives a very good idea to the reader of God's personality.

If its a first time start with Gospels[Matthew,Mark,Luke,John].
Psalms and Proverbs.
I like 1corinthians 13 chapter and Matthew 5 and 6 chapters and many more chapters and verses.
But book my favorite would be revelation. Its an awesome book.It starts with a blessing too.
read John 3:16 .GOD sent his son JESUS so when we believe in JESUS we have eternal life.JESUS lived a sinless life and gave up his life as a sacrifice so we can be sin free. Ask JESUS to come into your heart and forgive ur sins and
cleanse ur past with his blood.
With a simple prayer like above u can be saved.JESUS loves u and wants u to be saved.

"ignorance of scripture is ignorance of christ" st jerome
in a main sense it is all interesting and beneficial. when beginning however most people would suggest reading the gospels in the new testament first, usually john or luke. the key of scripture is to know god,to know god we must know jesus christ which we find in the gospel accounts,in other areas yes but primarily the gospels. here are some sites you may enjoy

when reading scripture it is good to learn about the culture of the time, the author and what religious truth(s) the author was trying to portray. god bless.
