The easy answer:
+ Accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior
+ Be baptized and spiritually born again
+ Follow the teachings of Jesus Christ
+ Do not commit mortal sin
The complicated answer:
We are already saved:
+ “For in hope we were saved.” (Romans 8:24)
+ “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from you; it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2:5-8)
We are being saved:
+ “He will keep you firm to the end, irreproachable on the day of our Lord Jesus.” (1 Corinthians 1:8)
+ “For we are the aroma of Christ for God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.” (2 Corinthians 2:15)
+ “So then, my beloved, obedient as you have always been, not only when I am present but all the more now when I am absent, work out your salvation with fear and trembling.” (Philippians 2:12)
We have the hope that we will be saved:
+ “How much more then, since we are now justified by his lood, will we be saved through him from the wrath. Indeed, if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, once reconciled, will we be saved by his life.” (Romans 5:9-10)
+ “If anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, the work of each will come to light, for the Day will disclose it. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire (itself) will test the quality of each one's work. If the work stands that someone built upon the foundation, that person will receive a wage. But if someone's work is burned up, that one will suffer loss; the person will be saved, but only as through fire.” (1 Corinthians 3:12-15)
Like the Apostle Paul, we are working out our salvation in “fear and trembling,” (Philippians 2:12) and with hopeful confidence in the promises of Christ:
+ “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access (by faith) to this grace in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God.” (Romans 5:2)
+ “This saying is trustworthy: If we have died with him we shall also live with him; if we persevere we shall also reign with him. But if we deny him he will deny us. If we are unfaithful he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself. (2 Timothy 2:11–13)
With love in Christ.

wow so many christians already playing god going by the previous answers, do they realize it was because of the catholic church that they even have a bible? catholics are saved by gods grace, we believe it is not a single action but as st paul taught us an ongoing race that we must persevere till the end. these websites will go into more detail
www.scripturecatholic.com
www.catholiceducation.org
www.newadvent.org
www.salvationhistory.com

the catholic church that gave us all the bible would be the better interpreters of their own book than the fundamentalists, it only stands to reason. no offence,i know that our seperated brothers and sisters in christ can be saved just sad to see that so many of them have already done gods work in condeming catholics to hell,i thought it was gods call but hey maybe the church that christ promised the holy spirit to all eternity was wrong for 2000 years as opposed to 500 years of protestants. again this relates to the previous answers i know some of our brothers and sisiters in christ are more charitable.

Catholics enter heaven by the grace of God...we just believe we have to co-operate with His grace in order to remain in Christ and persevere to the end. True Catholics believe that we first evangelize the Gospel by our example, then by our words. To sum it up, we believe in "working out our salvation with fear and trembling..."

All who are "saved" are saved by the grace of God, obtained as the result of Jesus' perfect and atoning sacrifice on the cross, and by their faithful allegiance to him.
The Catholic Church possesses ALL of God's provision for our life and our salvation, the fullness of God's truth, and the real presence of Jesus Christ, and makes all this and more, freely available for the asking, just as God requires.
Your active, faithful, and continuous participation in the work, worship, sacraments, and devotions of the Catholic Church, will get you to heaven, because Jesus set it up that way, from the start.
As for all the others ... let's pray that God's mercy exceeds his sense of justice ... and as Mr. T likes to say ... he "pitties the fools".

A catholic can't reach heaven. You have to be born again in the spirit in order to reach heaven. To be born of the truth. Means that you have to be reborn into the family of God thur the born again experence.

Well, first you have to quit the idol worship and praying to the dead, then you have to renounce the catholic religion and become born again. Once you learn that the catholic religion is false, you will do great.
Here you go:

I use to be a catholic and I thank my wonderful brother in law and his great Christian Friends for witnessing the truth of salvation through Jesus Christ. I am now a born again Bible believing Christian on my way to Heaven.
