Once you have it, you may have breakouts from stress, fevers, etc... Do not give oral sex when you have the fever blisters, or you will give that person genital herpes.

Yes, you can contact that type of herpes thru open sores in your mouth anytime you exchange fluids with an infected person. That is true even for HIV the Aids Virus.
Although the transfer of viruses thru kissing is not one of the primary routes it is entirely possible. Cases of which people have had gum disease and open sore, sometimes even unknown open sores, have contracted viruses.
It is dangerous to exchange any kind of body fluids with another person who is infected with a viral disease. That includes Herpes, Aids or any other viral diasease.
If you have contacted Herpes, you are going to have it the rest of your life, regardless if you keep this boyfriend or not its with you now for the rest of your life.

unfortuanately your stuck with the herpes, not only after kissing but in times of stress, when you get a cold or any time it wants to rare it little head. Probably did get it from your boyfriend though. Some over the counter stuff works like zovirax cream and lysine tablets (that's what it's called in Australia not sure about USA) they can help with the severity and length of the out break. See your Dr.
