I believe in God and Jesus, and Jesus is my close friend. I seek his guidance and ask his forgiveness. I try to follow his authentic teachings. I do not believe that the Bible is without mistakes. I believe some of the Bible is not from God, because of the evidence. And I do not believe that only Christians are saved.

Yes, you are a true Christian. You are right when you say that the Bible is not without mistakes - what I mean is that errors occurred when translating it into English. A Strong's or Young's Concordance will give you a dictionary of every single word in the bible and its translation so you can begin to learn where some of the mistakes are. But I believe that all of the Bible is from God, and it does not contradict itself. Good bible studies and/or bible schools can help with any confusion you might have. But as to whether or not it is all from God, 2 Timothy 3:16 says, "ALL scripture is given by INSPIRATION FROM GOD, and is profitable for instruction, evidence, correction, and training in righteousness". And over and again Jesus emphasized the importance of the Word of God saying that was how you could know the Truth concerning God so that's the reason to read it. It tells you about who God is and how He'd like us to be.
Lastly, you are right. Not only Christians are saved!! In Romans 2:14-16, it says "Now when the Gentiles (or literally when the "tribes" or "races") which have not the law do the things contained therein they are a law unto themselves: which show the work of the law WRITTEN IN THEIR HEARTS their conscience also bearing witness either accusing or excusing one another in the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel." In other words, people are judged by their conscience in response to right or wrong. And not only Christians are saved!

That's a start but you need to seek out more information about your beliefs. What are your facts that you have found that say the bible has mistakes, is this based on research or one persons opinion?

Keep seeking, keep searching out the truth. God has a stake Himself in your finding out the truth. He has nothing to hide. Keep searching, keep looking for the truth.

But remember truth is confirmed by 2 or 3 three witnesses, minimum.

You are right God is a lot bigger than many small people make HIm out to be. But He does not compromise on the really important stuff.

Like He wasn't kidding when He said Jesus is the Way, Jesus is the door. Jesus is the truth and the life. I believe that God has a lot of grace for unbelievers and those who have been taught the wrong things through no fault of their own. But He is not going to overlook some things either.

being a true Christian is to follow the example of Christ (1 Peter 2:21; John 13:15; 1 John 2:6) including all the things he taught his Apostles to write for our instruction (2 Timothy 3:16)

Yhshua/Jesus warned that there would be many false christians, claiming to believe in him yet not doing the will of his Father. And that there would only be a few *true* Christians doing the will of his Almighty Father YHWH/Jehovah (see Matthew 7:13-23)

So what did Christ do that we must do in order to be *true* Christians?

1. Pray to and serve "the only true God" (see John 17:3) the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (see Acts 3:13) whose name is YHWH
see also;
Matthew 22:37/Deuteronomy 6:5
Matthew 14:23
Mark 1:35
Mark 6:46
Mark 14:32
Luke 6:12
Matthew 6:9
John 20:17
John 17:1-5
John 5:19
John 14:28
Mark 10:18
Matthew 26:39
John 8:17-18
Mark 13:32
Matthew 20:23
Matthew 3:17

2. love everyone (see Matthew 22:39; Mark 12:31) and never harm or kill another human being
see also;
Matthew 5:44-48
Matthew 26:52
Luke 6:27
1 Peter 2:23
1 Peter 3:9
Romans 12:17

3. Preach YHWH's Kingdom which He has appointed His only-begotten Son Yhshua to rule over
see;
Matthew 24:14
Luke 4:43
Luke 10:1-3
Acts 5:42
Acts 8:4
Acts 20:20
1 Corinthians 9:16
Romans 10:15
2 Timothy 4:2-5
Matthew 4:23a
Matthew 9:35a
Luke 9:6a
1 Peter 2:21

4. be "no part of the world" of human kingdoms/governments/politics
see;
John 18:36
Daniel 2:44
Luke 4:5-8
James 4:4
John 15:19
John 17:14
Acts 5:29
1 John 2:15
Romans 12:2
John 14:30
2 Corinthians 4:4
Ephesians 2:2
1 John 5:19

5. Yhshua said that many false christians would be identified because they would not be doing the will of YHWH (Matthew 7:21)
So we must be careful not to mix traditions, rituals and festivals originally designed for false pagan Roman gods into our worship of the only true God.
See (and note that everywhere it says LORD is where Christ‘s Father‘s name YHWH/Jehovah used to be);
Deuteronomy 12:30
Exodus 34:15
Deuteronomy 20:18
Deuteronomy 8:19
Deuteronomy 13:13
Deuteronomy 18:10-13
Deuteronomy 32:16
Judges 2:3
Jeremiah 7:17-20
Acts 7:41-43

naturally, no one would ever follow the above examples of Christ if they did not believe and put faith in the fact that he was sent by his Almighty Father YHWH as our only means of salvation. One must accept and believe and have faith that Yhshua was sent by YHWH as our savior.

agape!

I think you are a Unitarian Christian.
Most Unitarian Christians would say that Jesus of Nazareth and his followers and disciples would today be defined as Unitarian Christians, and that Unitarian Christianity is the form of Christianity most closely following the direct teachings of Jesus. However, Unitarian Christians respect the beliefs of others and do not believe that the Unitarian Christian way is the only way to follow God's will.

I think you have so much in common with Unitarian because they believe that no religion can claim an absolute monopoly on the Holy Spirit or theological truth and they believe that the works of the Bible are inspired by God, but were written and edited by humans and therefore subject to human error.

If Jesus is really your close friend, you know Him and He knows you. Then you will know that people of other religions do not have this saving relationship.

The Bible needs to be understood spiritually. Not all of it is literal - Jesus told parables so that the open-minded would understand and the hard-hearted (religious) would not; He said so. So why would you think some of the Old Testament is not like that?

The Hebrew word translated "day" in the creation story means "time period" and could mean "era" or "epoch". See http://www.christianity.co.nz/science.6htm and on to 7 and 8 htm for a good discussion of this. It clears up a lot of man-made "fundamentalist" problems.

There are also discrepancies between accounts in lots of places, so we should not take the Bible as an infallible textbook. The gospel accounts of the Resurrection, for example, differ a fair bit from each other. This doesn't lead me to believe the Bible is not God-inspired; it is. It just means the fallibility of man is in it too and we need the Holy Spirit to guide us personally in revealing its true meaning. It means those who rigidly adhere to a literal interpretation and teach others they must do the same are blind like the Pharisees and cause heavy burdens, confusion and make the Church a laughing-stock.

I believe it may be possible for a non-Christian to satisfy God's demands by the state of his heart and go to Heaven. This is covered in Romans 2. Surely there will be many "Christians" bitterly disappointed on that Day, as Jesus warns. But if you yourself know Jesus, learn from Him what His salvation really means. Then I'm sure you would want to spread His good news (Gospel) to others.

Well believing in Jesus and in the Bible go hand in hand. If you think the bible is not inspired by God, then why would you believe the part of it that talks about Jesus anymore then the rest of the book? Is part of it true, and part of it not? How do you know which parts are right and wrong?

Then you are not saved yourself and you are not a true Christian, because any true born again Bible believing Christian would know that the word of God is all true, as God does not lie. The whole Christian word itself means "of Christ" and if you are not saved you are not of Christ. To be of Christ you must be saved "born again." John 3:3 tells it like it is. Make sure it is really Jesus that you are talking to and getting guidance from, because satan is always on the prowl ready to grab any soul who does not believe the Bible and is not saved. Remember this, satan also believes in God and he knows the Bible better than any human on earth and he knows how to twist scripture with non-believers (people not saved) and get them to sin against God. Here is a great website that I really like that will tell you alot on this subject.

Well it's good you believe in God and Jesus and that you consider him your friend and believe in his forgiveness of sin. yes the Bible has mistakes but I believe the entire Bible is inspired by God and that only Christians are saved. I agree with some of what you say but not all of it.

Jesus is the Word. Gospel of John, Chapter 1. He is Truth. His Word is true. The Bible is the Word of God as He has given it to us, and no matter how people interpret it, it is true. You cant accept one part of His Word and not another, because He and the Word are One. You can't separate God from His Word, or else you call Him a liar, and God doesn't lie. If you pick and choose which things you like then you really don't know God's Word and the Word is not in you. If the Word is not in you, then how can Christ be in you? He and the Word are One. You are a follower perhaps of His teachings but you may really not know Him as your Lord and Savior.
