I hope that someday God blesses you with genuine friends who actually care about you, and don't try to pressure you into doing what you do not want to. People that do things that are wrong very often put extreme pressure on their peers to do the same things - that way they don't feel so guilty about it. No matter how much they laugh and say otherwise, that is usually at the bottom of it.
Someday, you will meet the right woman, if that is God's plan for you. There will be no better gift you can give her than your virginity. Why in the world would you literally throw it in the trash by giving it to a prostitute? You would feel filthy and dirty, and there is no getting it back. You are not gay, and you know it. People thinking you are gay doesn't mean that you are gay, so try not to sweat it. And why are so many people finding out that you are a virgin anyway? You need to seek God, and find new friends, ones who will not pressure you into doing what will only ultimately send you to hell in sin. God is there for you, seek and you will find.
Here are some books you may find helpful.

There's nothing wrong with it. What you do with your private love life really is none of your friends' business, and you shouldn't really be calling "friends" people who are coercing you to do prostitutes simply because they think you should've gotten laid by now. I surmise that hiring prostitutes for one-night stands would definitely be unsatisfying, and you're right about the self-esteem issue. It's throwing your self-worth away if you think you are not worth any more than a couple of paid one-night stands with strangers who are just doing business. I would think it's infinitely more satisfying to "do it" with someone you have strong, true feelings for.
It's a pretty troubling trend that so many teens and college students are experimenting with sex, and ending up with negative consequences. You're on the right road, and keep on holding out for the right girl.

I am almost 21 and am still a virgin (ok well practically--had sex one time--and was extremely pressured) and I am happy about it.
In fact I would much rather be with a guy who hasn't been out screwing everything that walked by. It disgusts me how much men sleep around. Sooo a virgin is far more desirable.
Keep staying true to yourself. Wait to find a girl with morals who also appreciates your choice, and when you think its the right time, go for it.
Don't let your moronic friends hate on you. If they are bothering you that much--consider a change of friends.
Virginity is admirable not something to be made fun of--maybe they are jealous that you don't have herpes and they do? lol

Maybe it's time to change friends. I understand your frustration and agree that it's no big deal. It's your life and you will live it as you choose. If you wanted to find a girl just to get laid you can probably accomplish this. But what's the point, what will it prove? Personally, I feel that who a person chooses to sleep with is a reflection on the person's opinion of him/herself. So if you were to choose a bimbo, it's pretty telling. You ar respecting your own values, keep doing so.

First of all, I think I can tell you with some confidence that you should not do it with a prostitute, especially if you really don't feel like it. Secondly, I would say your virginity should not be their business, anyway. If you don't want to rush to lose it, don't do it. Go at a pacing at which you are comfortable with. When you get a girlfriend, go at the pacing you are comfortable with, but you should explain your circumstances to her.

Heads off to you, be firm and lose your virginity to your wife on the first night that is my best advice.
Next time your friend talks bad about this just tell them their future wife lose their virginity to a male prostitute and see their face, they want virgin wife but they themself do not want to be virgin.
Alternative tell them you pay and ask them to do with the prostitute and you will know how many of they actually have the 'real" experience or is talking based on shows/books.
Keep up the goodwork......and get rid of such asshole friends.

I think the whole issue is over-rated these days as well, so I can understand your point of view.
I believe most people just do the act to be part of the "crowd" these days, not giving much thought or time as to anything in the meaning. I'm applauding you for sticking to your virtues

No big deal. Who cares. Grow up and stop discussing it with your dumb friends. Tell them to worry about their own d*cks, you'll take care of yours just fine.
Don't go for a prostitute. Yes, you might catch something for the rest of your life and pass to somebody you love. Guys who use prostitutes disgust me for many reasons. They actually make very bad lovers later, because they learn to please themselves without worrying about making the woman feel good.
I had a bf who have never been with a woman before. He was 29. He didn't even date anyone before me. Everything went just fine ;-) we broke up for completely unrelated reasons.

They are morons. You become their subject because they have nothing better to talk about. I held out until I was 19, but part of that was because I was home on leave, and scared that if I didn't do it then, I'd get shot, and never have the chance.

From one Some Guy to another.....
Don't worry about it! Whatever happened to being virtuous and loyal? I think your future wife will really appreciate that she's your first and only. It will relieve her that you aren't carrying anything and it will just be more special. Don't put up with your friends' crap. Ask them why they think it's so great to be slutty!!
Best Wishes!! :)
