Go ahead and brush your teeth. Just try to spit instead of drinking water in the process.

The reason for not having anything by mouth is so that you don't throw it up and inhale it. (Aspiration). Aspiration is one of the biggest anesthesia risks, and is also among the most preventable.
Your dentist will be much happier if you DO brush your teeth, but you can certainly spit instead of swallowing any water. If you do swallow a little bit, it won't hurt.
For healthy people, many anesthesiologists are ok with clear liquids up to 3 hours before surgery, but you'd need to clear that with whomever is knocking you out.
Good luck.

Yes you can still brush your teeth but make sure it's only a sip of water that you drink. Accidentally of course! LOL

Yes you can. My wife had hers pulled two weeks ago. Her instruction sheet (still have it) says she can swollow a little bit of water to take medicine. To me, that means a little water used to help clean your teeth & freshen your breath would probably be ok.

I had the same procedure not too long ago and I had water and was fine. I guess they tell you not to eat because when you pass out ur body can't digest food as easily.

Your best bet it to brush your teeth now and then you shouldn't have to brush them again as you won't be eating or drinking anything more anyway.

They tell you not to eat or drink because you'll feel sick otherwise. It also might affect the anaesthesiologist's calculations but I don't think so.
A little water won't hurt at all.
