It's not really something that you can put into words, it's a feeling. A cat is a pet who becomes a part of the family. It isn't what does a cat do, or that they are usesless, they aren't. They give you love and affection. They play with you. They play in front of you and make you laugh. Everything they do is just so entertaining. I love watching my cats play together, it's more fun than watching TV. It's just something that growns on you. I think that you are just born to love cats, it isn't something that anyone can explain to you. People are just born loving cats. They aren't useless, they keep away mice and bats, which is certainly a useful trait. Unlike dogs, they don't have to be walked, they take care of themselves, they clean themselves. They do have to be feed, but you can feed them once a day and leave them alone for the day and do what you have to do and not worry that they will destroy your house, like a dog, which is really nice. What else can I say, cats are just wonderful little friends, they sit by you, they snuggle by you, they sleep next to you and purr and let you know they love you. What more can I say. Cats are wonderful pets and wonderful friends. You have to know them to love them.

i have three cats. two males and one female. the oldest cat needs little maintenance. he is a good boy. the female hates the youngest male. the youngest cat is my buddy. sleeps with me, eats what i eat, sweet buddy. he was homeless. all of the cats i have had were homeless except the female. i think the homeless cats make better pets. they appreciate a good home. i have had dogs, and the last one died about two yrs ago. i doubt i will get another dog. require to much maintenance. the cats take care of themselves. they are my children, and i enjoy them very much. sincerely, bo maner

I live in a rural area in South Texas where we have mice, poisonous snakes and other creatures we would really like to keep out of our house.
We have three cats. They keep the snakes away and we don't get mice in our house. If we could train them to go after scorpions that would be even better, but we'll take the mouse control since mice are really nasty creatures.
I am very glad to buy eight dollars worth of food a month for our three cats. Ours are affectionate, always glad to see me (since I almost always feed them when I get home) and I like them better than dogs for their independence and aloofness.
I also like dogs, to an extent.

Oh yes! All the time lol, it makes me jump up with fright and say sorry (cats name) and then I realise it is just one of the cats rubber balls that I am stepping on. It is so funny when that happens! lol

Well i have had my cat for 12 years he's a boy and neutered he is affectionate he can be annoying and is a talker. he never scratches except on accident and stands over me when I'm in bed and licks my face. I can cuddle him and he seems to like it but doesen't like to let me cuddle him for a long time. sometimes he just lays on the bed next to me he has his own pillow and I love to spoil him and show him I love him by giving him cat treats and toys. He's my baby and I do as much as I can to make him happy.

Cat people are typically weirdos...who likes the smell of a litter box resonating throughout at least one room in the house? And for those of you that say 'no it doesn't'...it does...your nose has just become desensitized.

My cat is like a friend to me and my baby at the same time.
She can even seance when I'm sad and comes around to cheer me up by putting her paw on my hand or leg, licking my face and the feeling of happiness coming from her everyday when i come back home makes feeding her and "spending money on her food" worth it, if u think of it, why do people have children, they only take take take until they're 18 (at least) and then move out? Or even a fish as a pet, they do nothing!
I guess its just the love the cats have and show for their owners makes loving them so easy!
