and passionate about all religions and science but having a hard time finding questions to ask because i get so interested in everyone elses. I try to remain unbiased and honest in my answers but i wonder why it is assumed that god wants us all to jump on a bandwagon and prove everyone else wrong?

If you can see that science and theology have much in common and don't actually contradict each other, I would agree that you may be more spiritually aware than most. Your comments about what God wants are a creation of "power mongers". They attempt to control others by stating what God wants even though no one knows the true nature of God or what God wants.

To tell you the truth, we are having a discussion to agree to disagree just for the sake of this forum. Some people are sarcstic, some just plain mean, and some try to answer the questions.

In dealing face-to-face, I would do what Jesus told the Apostles when he sent them out. Jesus said in Mark 6:10-11 "In whatever place you enter a house, stay there till you depart from that place, and whoever will not receive you nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under you feet as a testimony against them ...."

My friend, you can answer without proving someone wrong by: providing someone else with some spiritual information, a word of encouragement or by interpreting something for someone. Most times people are trying to prove the other wrong because of the question - it is, in and of itself, provocative. But yours is not! Keep learning, loving and searching!

It is Satan that uses force...that has never been God's way because He gave all of us the power of choice. God in His wisdom knows us so well. If we had been made the same we would all lose interest and quit studying. It is the differences among us that keeps us studying. I have found that I have doubled my Bible study since being on here and I am really glad for the challenges people give me. Mmm

"i wonder why it is assumed that god wants us all to jump on a bandwagon and prove everyone else wrong?"

Because truth matters; what one believes has consequences.

God has no desire for use to prove others wrong, but instead desires that we keep our focus on our spiritual paths and goals that lead us back to God. There is no spiritual path that God cannot use to direct us back to God. Thus it is silly for us to bother with trying to prove others wrong when our focus should be on our own path and on God. God will use whatever path another person is on in order to guide them, just as God uses the path you are on to guide you.

well....it's not "prove everyone is wrong"...but this is a Q & A forum and when people ask questions and if u don't agree with something,u'll have to give REASONS for not agreeing right?

i mean..like this,i'm a Buddhist and therefore an atheist.if someone asks WHY i don't believe in God,if i point blank say "i don't believe because i don't believe" it would be a bit unreasonable wouldn't it? and it would be rude...so that's why i give REASONS for not believing :)

maybe it's the desire to be true and 'show yourself approved'. I believe that there is truth in all views. For example, a blow-up beach ball has many different colors depending on which way you turn it and look at it. Red, blue, yellow, white, and yet, it is still a beach ball.

Hi there High...

Kinda interesting isn't it? There's folks with serious questions (they want answers). And folks who want to give serious answers.

Then theres a bunch of hecklers.

Then, sometimes the hecklers ask questions which are really sermons.

I'm kinda torn. I like it all.

I have the same problem. Why would -- if you believe in a creation anyway -- a god create all different sorts of people and then expect them to worship and act the same way?
