wow, I hope that's not what our tax dollars are going for!

It depends what state you live in. A few years ago, indiana had a deal, that the state would pay for up to $5000 to get your car running, so you could get off of welfare and get a job. im 100% positive about this (my buddy worked for the ifsa). we no longer do it thank god, but your state might.
