Catholics do not claim that Jesus was born on December 25. No one knows upon which date Jesus was born.
But we do celebrate his birth on that date.
Our Orthodox brothers and sisters celebrate Christmas on January 6 (our 12th day of Christmas).
We are not trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes. We just like to celebrate the fact that "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life." (John 3:16)
If you do not wish to celebrate with us then don't. No hard feelings.
Merry Christmas!
With love in Christ.

Ahem. Catholics have known fully well when Jesus was exactly born and in what year for over 2,000 years.
Furthermore, the date of December 25th, the feast of Saturnia also known as Dagan, the Syrian blood god is quite specifically prescribed by the Vatican as the date they wish to celebrate.
The true date for Christmas/the birth of Jesus is Friday 14 Nisan 6 CE. It was celebrated by most of the early church for hundreds of years and equates to roughly April 1st under the old Julian Calendar.
See:
http://one-faith-of-god.org/new_testament/apocrypha/jesus_family/jesus_family_0010.htm
Then in the 4th Century, the Catholic Church decided to change the date for celebrating the birth of Jesus from its true date to the feast of Saturnia, also being Dagan.
The date continued as New years day for a few more centuries until the vatican finally decreed that all who celebrate New years on April 1 are "fools".
So any Catholic spin merchant, apologist that claims "we simply don't know" is once again not telling the complete story.
Why does the Vatican refuse to set the birth of Jesus to its proper date instead of worshipping the pagan gods of Saturn, of Dagan is another question and a far deeper issue.
Why does the Vatican refuse to shift from Dec 25th? Tradition is not good enough. Saying is was always an important festival is also not good enough. Dagan is not a good pagan god, but an evil god. Why can't the Pope choose a positive day for Christmas not associated with evil like the orthodox christians?

Easy on the lake of fire talk.
That's God's job to determine, not your's.
No properly instructed Catholic is going to profess that Jesus was actually born on December 25! Given what the Gospel of Luke has to say about shepperds watching over their flocks by night, it's reasonable to assume His birth came during the warmer months of the year.
Since there is no official record of His birth, we have no way of knowing the exact day Jesus was born. Therefore, no one can be held morally responsible for celebrating Jesus' birthday on the "wrong day", assuming such a thing is a sin -which it isn't.
The Church - quite deliberately - decided to celbrate Christ Mass on December 25th but, by doing so, is not proclaiming that day as Jesus' actual birthday!
I think you're looking for a problem where none exists. And therein lies a much more serious issue - your misuse of the Scriptures. God gave us the Bible to use as a guide to our Salvation.
You, on the other hand, are using it as an instrument to find fault with others AND go so far as to condemn them to hell. Such are not the actions of a Christ-like peace-maker.
Matthew 7:3 - Why do you notice the splinter in your brother's eye but not see the log that is in your own eye?

Catholic Church does not teach that Jesus was born December 25. No one knows when Jesus was born. December 25 is the day that Christians in the western part of the world (including Catholics) celebrate Jesus' birth.

In my 25+ years of in depth study of all the *major* belief systems (both theist and atheist) of the world, I have found very few Christian groups in the world who do not go on believing the lie.
2 Thessalonians 2:11, 12
Yhshua/Jesus said that only a few true Christians would do the will of his Father YHWH/Jehovah and that most who claim to be "christians" would be false. see Matthew 7:13-23
the december 25th date is a proven lie that was created so that pagans could claim to be "christian" and still partake of their festival to false gods. No one in the Scriptures ever celebrated Yhshua/Jesus' birthday.
2 Thessalonians 2:11, 12
do not continue in the lie.
being a true Christian is to follow the example of Christ (1 Peter 2:21; John 13:15; 1 John 2:6) including all the things he taught his Apostles to write for our instruction (2 Timothy 3:16)
Yhshua/Jesus warned that there would be many false christians, claiming to believe in him yet not doing the will of his Father. And that there would only be a few *true* Christians doing the will of his Almighty Father YHWH/Jehovah (see Matthew 7:13-23)
So what did Christ do that we must do in order to be *true* Christians?
1. Pray to and serve "the only true God" (see John 17:3) the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (see Acts 3:13) whose name is YHWH
see also;
Matthew 22:37/Deuteronomy 6:5
Matthew 14:23
Mark 1:35
Mark 6:46
Mark 14:32
Luke 6:12
Matthew 6:9
John 20:17
John 17:1-5
John 5:19
John 14:28
Mark 10:18
Matthew 26:39
John 8:17-18
Mark 13:32
Matthew 20:23
Matthew 3:17
2. love everyone (see Matthew 22:39; Mark 12:31) and never harm or kill another human being
see also;
Matthew 5:44-48
Matthew 26:52
Luke 6:27
1 Peter 2:23
1 Peter 3:9
Romans 12:17
3. Preach YHWH's Kingdom which He has appointed His only-begotten Son Yhshua to rule over
see;
Matthew 24:14
Luke 4:43
Luke 10:1-3
Acts 5:42
Acts 8:4
Acts 20:20
1 Corinthians 9:16
Romans 10:15
2 Timothy 4:2-5
Matthew 4:23a
Matthew 9:35a
Luke 9:6a
1 Peter 2:21
4. be "no part of the world" of human kingdoms/governments/politics
see;
John 18:36
Daniel 2:44
Luke 4:5-8
James 4:4
John 15:19
John 17:14
Acts 5:29
1 John 2:15
Romans 12:2
John 14:30
2 Corinthians 4:4
Ephesians 2:2
1 John 5:19
5. Yhshua said that many false christians would be identified because they would not be doing the will of YHWH (Matthew 7:21)
So we must be careful not to mix traditions, rituals and festivals originally designed for false pagan Roman gods into our worship of the only true God.
See (and note that everywhere it says LORD is where Christ‘s Father‘s name YHWH/Jehovah used to be);
Deuteronomy 12:30
Exodus 34:15
Deuteronomy 20:18
Deuteronomy 8:19
Deuteronomy 13:13
Deuteronomy 18:10-13
Deuteronomy 32:16
Judges 2:3
Jeremiah 7:17-20
Acts 7:41-43
naturally, no one would ever follow the above examples of Christ if they did not believe and put faith in the fact that he was sent by his Almighty Father YHWH as our only means of salvation. One must accept and believe and have faith that Yhshua was sent by YHWH as our savior.
agape!

No one knows when Jesus was born but we are allowed to celebrate his birth. By some consensus it was decided hundreds of years ago to celebrate it on December 25.
No lie is involved. By the way all Christians not only Catholics agree with the date.

I'm not really following what your question is, but I'll give it a shot anyways, because I think that it's valid. I think that most educated Christians know that Jesus wasn't born on 12/25. I am not the judge, so I can't say that they will or won't go to hell, but since it's impossible to know exactly when Jesus was born, I don't think that celebrating his birth on one given day is wrong. The commercialization of Christmas however... Like I said, I, nor anyone else for that matter is the judge, God is, and I'm glad for that. I hope that answers your question. if not, let me know how to better answer it and I'll give it my best shot.

give me a break.
NO ONE- including the Cathiolic Church- knows the date of Jesus' birth.
Throw in the fact that the calendars have changed several times since the birth of Christ and ANY of us could share the Lord's birthday.
But isn't that cool in a way?
The Church picked December 25th for several reasons, but the point is there is ONE DAY each year when we honor Christ's birth.
I had a girlfriend in high school whose grandmother was an abandoned child- no birth certificate. She had never had a birthday party because no one knew when her birthday was. In high school, her boyfriend picked a day a gave her a surprise birthday party. That day became her birthday- and he became her husband!
My point is- it doesn't MATTER what day is Jesus' birthday. What matters is He was born. If teh exact day mattered, God would have revealed it to us.
You really need to get some maturity in your faith life.

Based on the timings of tax collections, harvest and other factors bible scholars say jesus was born in what would be June for us. December 25 is a pagan holiday that the church assimilated into their religion since they couldn't get anyone to celebrate the correct(?) date. Roman paganism was more fun.

I think you should get your facts straight before you start speaking for others. No one claims Jesus was born on Dec 25. That is the day we set aside for the religious feast day. Totally different concept.
If you think you have a clear and authoatative interpretation of Revelations, then you are the poster child for why individuals should not interpret the bible.
