I don't know how old you are so my answer might not be the right one for your age. however if you don't have sex with a guy and he still asked you out then you will know for sure.
other ways of telling, when you are together does he give you all the attention, not looking at other girls etc...while you are away does he call you. if he enjoys just going to the park or after dinner is over just sitting at the table talking, and if he listens to you instead of doing all the talking (this works both ways) a true friend listens more than they talk
