And he spake also, concerning a prophet, which should come before the Messiah, to prepare the way of the Lord; yea, even he should go forth and cry in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, and make his paths straight; for there standeth one among you whom ye know not; and he is mightier than I, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.(1 Nephi 10:8)
Again, Joe Smith resorts to plagiarism in order validate his book. On the other hand, John the disciple of Jesus gives credit when quoting others.
He said: "I am 'The voice of one crying in the wilderness: make straight the way of the Lord,' as the prophet Isaiah said."(John 1:23) It is He who, coming after me, is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose.(John 1:27)

Can't you see he's taken text straight from the New Testament? And, they're still calling this another testament of Jesus Christ? Do you trust Joe?

No !!! I do NOT trust Joe...

I agree. If my religion was doing that it would be enough for me to walk away. I trust the bible. not the book of Mormon.

Joseph Smith said this...

"Come on! ye prosecutors! ye false swearers! All hell, boil over! Ye burning mountains, roll down your lava! for I will come out on top at last. I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor JESUS ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet...When they can get rid of me, the devil will also go." (History of the Church, Vol. 6, p. 408, 409)

- Joseph Smith: founder, prophet, seer, and revelator of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How many times does the Lord repeat Himself in the Bible? Don't know the exact number, but alot. Were all those accounts from different prophets of old plagerized from one another? I don't think so. Did it ever occur to you that things might be repeated because the Lord wants us to know that they are important and to follow them. How many times did you learn soemthing over and over in school. Would you have learned it if you only heard it once? Unless you are a classified genius i would say no. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It's teachings go hand in hand. It is the word of God so what makes you think that He was gonna change His teachings for the people in the BofM? And it's not a matter of trusting Joesph Smith. I trust in the Lord and in His teachings. I am required only to trust in the Lord for my slavation. And my testimony speaks firm to my heart that the Book of Mormon is the Lord's teachings.

If it is true, would you not expect the same teachings as the Bible. There is one God and one religion. That means one truth. Have you read the whole thing? There is no way he could have written it or even taken pieces of the Bible and put it together so well. I encourage you to read and pray about it, and you will get an answer.

I love Joseph Smith very mich and I don't appreciate it when people call him down. He was martyred for his beliefs, and is not here to defend himself.
If you have read the entire Book of Mormon, then you would realize that there is no way that a young boy could have written it. People aer sure quick to tackle Joseph Smith, but in retrospect, they forget his age and his educational level. He did not write the Book. He translated it. Get over it.

You know what's brilliant about the Book of Mormon? It doesn't ask us to trust "Joe" or any human for that matter. It asks us to trust God, and ask Him with real faith and real intent whether it is true or not, and it promises that we can know through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Now, I've done just that, and I've gotten my answer - so what else matters?

Ok, did the Book of Mormon plagiarize the Bible, or is it contradictory to the Bible?

If it's the same god, of course he'd sound the same, duh.

But the bible blagiarizes pagan myths - check out the origin of the jesus stories:

And exactly where was the "New" Testament plagiarized from????

Jews do not need Christianity to explain their existence or their origin, but Christians cannot explain their existence without Judaism.

ok the book of Mormon contradicts the bible....so how could it be from the same God? the bible says you need faith to go to heaven, but the book of Mormon says you just need works...hmmm. I'm pretty sure the one true God would not contradict himself.
