Simply put...no.

Evilution (not misspelled) says that nature is a series of trial and error. Survival of the fittest.
God says that He made everything and saw that it was good.

You are talking about "theistic evolution".
It's one thing to believe in evolution, but it's worse to blame God for it.

So don't.

Sure. I can hold a bible in my hand and believe I am holding it and at the same time embrace evolution/natural selection.

Okay, okay. Better answer now. Creationists take the book of Genesis, especially the first few chapters, way too seriously. First off, the Hebrew word translated as "day" (as in the first day, second day, etc...) doesn't actually mean day. It means time period (unspecified, no less!) Second, the bible doesn't specify HOW God made the animals, so technically he could have used any method he wants, including evolution.

What does this all mean? If you really want to you CAN believe the bible and evolution. In fact, we can technically believe ANYTHING we want too. Why not believe that the dot that exploded into the Big Bang was pooped out by a magical purple bunny?

In my opinion you can, thats one of those things that depends on what you believe at the end of the day we form our own spiritual and logical thoughts. Now I feel that both could very well have occured and that people may fail to realise that the picture is way more complex, The truth is although there is evolution there is no missing link between men and ape and its entirely possible that some of us come from elsewhere however many years ago a heck of alot has changes and we are missing LIKE ALMOST ALL ANCIENT HISTORY

No, I think because each contradicts the other. The Word of God says that God created man in His own image. Therefore man was made in the image that He is today. Evolution says that man evolved from some other being, i.e. a caveman or ape. No two can walk together unless they agree and here you have two separate theories that are totally different. May God Bless U.

You're allowed to believe in anything you want...that's what FREEDOM is all about. I believe that one day I will be able to open a sardine can using just a banana skin...who's to tell me that I am wrong?

I also believe that I am going to have a good meal tonight.

I have a cartoon on my desk as I speak....a lamb is standing up, shouting to the rest of the flock "Hey, wait, listen to me....we don't HAVE to be just sheep"

As for books to believe in, I think Harry Potter is about as good a book as any (including your Bible).

Cheers

as long as you don't believe in darwinism, i don't see why not. There is such thing as natural evolution like natural selection and evolving to survive. The belief we all came from some monopod to ape to man is what is absurd.

It depends on what you mean by "evolution". "Descent with modification" is fairly non-controversial, I think. It's only when it's combined with the idea of "universal common ancestry" that it becomes clearly unbiblical.

Well, you can certainly stay Christian, but you have to be very flexible re Genesis. Here's >10,600 clergy accepting the ToE...
Note; US Only: http://www.butler.edu/clergyproject/clergy_project.htm

There are hundreds of millions (SWAG) of lay Xians realizing that the ToE is the best explanation for life's diversity, as well.
