You are lucky. Some people don't have a helpful hint, let alone thought of what is the right path, and it is not pretty.
I dream that which you are capable of hearing. I do know that it would be a privilege if I could know you, to be able to be there and hear you speak the duality of your thoughts out loud to me. I in turn would let you in on my dreaming process.
I think you may very well be a super human.
God bless us all...

Ciao...
As far as I'm concerned, it is perfectly normal. There are a lot of ways one can approach this, but I'll settle for the simplest and the most popular one - Psychoanalysis.
Freud's conception of the "self" was that it was split into three distinct, and yet coexisting "personalities" I'd say: The id, ego, and super ego.
The id represents the bad, that is.. our basic instincts, sexual desires, selfish attitudes..etc. The superego is the exact opposite, it stands for the good that some people think we have learned from the world (others believe it is somewhat mystical, like Socrates).
Now these two are obviously always in conflict with eachother, they both seek to control the rest of you. So here comes the ego - the pacifier - this last works on compromising. Its "job" if you will, is to maintain a balance between the id and superego.
With that said, it is neither uncommon, nor unnatural for you to catch yourself arguing with yourself about things, or one side of you wanting to attend a party whilst the other is tugging on your arm to finish your homework for example.
It is therefore not something I'd call a split mental personality disorder (also because I don't see the difference between that and multiple personality disorder). It just has to do with our mental make-up as humans.
{This is as simply as I can put it. However, I don't deny that there are many other train of thoughts that can give useful, and valid explanations for this same phenomena. Hope I made it clear enough}

I would say that it is normal because I have Dissociative Identitiy Disorder (Multiple Personality Disorder) and I hear distinct voices arguing and talking in my head, to each other and to me. What you have going on is an internal dialog of contending trains of thought . The difference is that with me they are different "people ". They have different voices. They are different ages and sexes. They each think they are unique to this world. Be very glad you don't have this problem.

Is what you are talking about are your own thoughts and not voices that you can actually hear in your head? If it is just thoughts, maybe you are trying to figure out what you truly believe in that particular subject matter. come to terms with the subject and be final about it. If it is voices that you can hear or have no control over them or what they say to you, you need to seek professional help asap. Don't be embarassed about getting counseling and seeing a psych. Good Luck,,,,

Ummm I had teh same and still often do when I'm feeling down.
I use to be depressed and I would constantly have fights in my head abotu staying alive, or killing myself. And it was like the other voice wasn't even me. Theyre were good and bad thoughts.
A voicce in my head would be like " end it all, you'll feel better" then I would just scream abotu how I didnt' want to.. I think it's a mental breakdown ..... I dunno, but I remember it, and I HATEd it.. and I never want those voices again.
Good luck. I dont think its NOT normal, I think everyone deals with something... the brain is pretty powerful, we can comprehend EVERYTHING it does.

Quite normal to carry on an inner dialog, conscience, weigh the pros and cons of an issue-and healthy too. That is if they're talking about things that you're thinking about. If they're talking off subject, you might want to reach out to someone you respect.
