yep...this mess is entirely Bush's fault. It's sad how Bush suckered everybody into this illegal invasion of Iraq.

- Hello to you, a Vietnam vet!? If what you stated is true...
To answer your question , think about how you would had preferred to been treated back in 1975... I am sure you would have preferred if the protesters would had acknowledged that you weren't overseas simply because you choose that place to take vacation...
If you were in the same scenario as my friends - you went there because you had no real choice to go or not { I recall the draft...}
It's almost the same case here, as with any other war - the soldiers are doing their job - They didn't join the armed forces PRAYING to be in a war - but to earn money and to learn. For some people , it's the only way they can see to get out of the ghetto, or life earning only minimum wages..
It isn't the soldiers that start Wars - it is the higher ups in the government..
So how should they be treated? With respect as any-other normal humane being...

Win or lose its not the troops that made any mistakes. Does two wrongs make a right? If it did not make you feel good then why would you want to do it to them? I am sorry for the way you were treated in 1975. My father was treated the same way. But still supports the troops. Thank you for what you did and I hope this will help you heal.

You know what it's like to fight for something. You are reminded everyday of what you went through. 32 years and you have memories of your past that are terrible. No one should be treated the way you or any of the others where treated. If you have know what the troops are going through, you know what's like to not know whether tomorrow is going to come. and if you have a heart then, yes you should have compassion, and not only that you should support the troops. they are fighting for a lot of people, not just for themselves. They didn't join the army to make money, yes some see it as a way out. the joined the army to fight for what is right, to protect there home and the people they love...

1. WE won't lose the war. Regardless of the outcome in Iraq, the war will (I am sorry to say) continue. Iraq is a battle (ground).
2. I cannot believe you really did serve in Vietnam from 69-75 (at least not for the U.S.). Most anyone over the age of 40 will know why I say this simply by looking at the way you phrased your question.
3.Our troops have never lost a war - EVER. Our politicians usually accomplish that without much help from U.S. Armed Forces. If you served ...you'd know.

Now you are loosing credibility. Which was it 69 during the war or 75 during peace time. You have claimed both. Make up your mind. Why as if you should have compassion? If you do you do, if you don't .. what are you going to do? Seek counseling? or just wonder why not?

I am assuming your an American. If you are, you have the constitutional right to treat them as you want, on the other hand if I ever see you treat, talk to, look at wrong, a soldier sailor, marine, coast guard or any other soldier for that matter in a bad way I will find you and we will have words. For safety sake I cannot say what I really want.

I dare you to treat a single troop like how they were treated back in 1975.
Considering what would happen to you, It's actually funny to even consider you doing so.

ALL veterans should be treated with the respect and honor they deserve.
If you actually did serve, it is time to get over your bitterness and get on with your life. You sound too much like the enemy. You sound like some terrorist masquerading as a veteran to spread propaganda.

Uh, the troops are over there fighting for you too, if you can't see that.
It wasn't them that ever did anything to you. That's like me saying I'm gonna treat you bad because someone else treated me badly. Does that sound right? I didn't think so.
