How about disowning an Adult Child who willingly helped the ex (from a decade and half ago) BURGLARIZE my Home in August 2006! Yes, this one did just that -- it is an ultimate betrayal of everything I stood for, fought for, and demonstrated in my daily life -- this one REJECTED IT ALL for SELFISH ENDS ...

In the end of it all -- they are the losers -- because .. when all is said and done ...

I have lived my life well, worked hard, paid all my bills, and yes ... SURVIVED The nastiness that was thrown my way, put in my path, and (most importantly) purchased my way out of a horror of a sham of a short disaster of a marriage (to an Abusive, Violent Ex -- who (by the way) was CONVICTED of abusing the CHILD that HELPED him Burglarize my home so many years ago!).

My family still see me as the addict I once was even though technically in their eyes I should be considered the most successful as I beat my habit, have two wonderful daughters, house car boat great job etc but it was never enough. I still feel like the social pariah and I am over trying to appease them for their shortcomings. I can't do any more so I stopped and I am happier since I stopped being something I am not. None of my family believe in fair conflict or to resolve conflict its better to bury it and I am a believer in resolving issues and admiting faults so I am the black sheep.

No. We just deal with the issues rather than ignoring each other. We may not come to an agreement but that doesn't mean that I would cut them out of my life.

My mother does not speak to her parents because they do not accept her husband. She was married before and he used to beat her up so she divorced him and got remarried. Her parents don't accept her new husband at all so I haven't seen my grandparents in seven years.
