Well, it's like this. Jesus live a life of sinless perfection. Does that mean that as a child he never spilled the milk or tripped and skinned his knee? The Bible doesn't say but it seems reasonable to guess that Jesus who was in a human body didn't drive every nail in the wood perfectly straight when his adoptive father was teaching Him to be a carpenter. The Bible only speaks about His sinless perfection.

Jesus was perfect, so he did not sin. He was perfect because he was God.
Jesus came to Earth as a perfect sacrifice; the final sacrifice. Sacrifice was the method of atoning for sin in the Old Testament.
Sacrifices were supposed to be the best. If an animal was to be sacrificed it was supposed to be the best you had, unblemished and not obviously imperfect. If the sacrifice was of garden produce, again, it was supposed to be the best you had.
In keeping with the rules for sacrifices, Jesus had to be unblemished by sin.
What Jesus did was live a sin-free life for 33 years. When the time came, all of the sins of the world, past, present, and future, were transferred to Him, and he paid the price of all of that sin -- death. (The wages of sin is death.)
But then God got the last laugh, as it were, because Jesus was raised from the dead! This set the precedent for eternal life after the Earthly existence comes to an end. We can follow Jesus' example, all the way to eternal life if we believe, and follow directions.

Hello women of God,
Jesus had to be perfect because He is God; He was God manifested in the flesh.
St.John 1:1-10
1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2. The same was in the beginning with God.
3. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6. There was a man sent from God , whose name was John.
7. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8. He was not that Light, but was sent ot bear witness of that Light.
9. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10. He was in the world , and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
So we can see here that He was not man. He just was only showing us that, we can live without sin. We were born in it , but we dont have to stay in it; My prayer is that this helps you.
Father touch the heart and minds of your daughters and sons who are reading this message in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior...Amen,Amen!

Sin is separation from God first and then from self and others. Jesus was only separated from God for those few minutes on the cross when He (taking on the sins of the world) asked "my God, my God why have you forsaken me?". The rest of the time Jesus and God were one. So no sin. Also Jesus knew who He was as a person, so no sin there. And He knew others for the children of God that they were and he loved them all. He never acted in an unloving way, except for that time in the temple when he lost his temple with the money changers. Minor thing, no real sin there either. Jesus was also perfect because he fulfilled his destiny. He became all that He was meant to be. He was a complete human being, following the will of God 100%. He was love itself. Unlike us, who don't know who we are, don't know our gifts, don't allow God to develop our gifts, and don't seek and do God's will. Do you see the difference? Jesus came to show us how to get this being a human being thing right. He is our model.

That's a really good question. I think that the answer would be 'no' .
Did you notice that people are on here asking the questions: Is this a sin? is that a sin? and on and on it goes all day long, debates on what is a sin and what's not a sin, it makes me sick that people don't get it. And they continue every day that I am here.
The truth is, we have a sin nature. Our sin nature is in us, and so we sin. Jesus didn't have a sin nature. It wasn't in him to sin. Try as he might, Satan couldn't get Jesus to go his way. I figure that Jesus didn't have it in him to go any other way but God's way.
And THAT'S the problem we are having. We have both God's nature and our sinful nature in us. Paul referred to them as 'a stuggle' inside of us. In the Hebrew letter, Paul says something that I figure that many Christians pass by without much thought:
Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
That's for us Christians to know. By fixing our eyes on Jesus, we place our lives in his hands, and are therefore 'more than victors' in Christ Jesus.

Very good question. Probably a lot of Christians don't think about this - personally, I've never properly thought about it until now. I think that Jesus was perfect not just because he didn't sin, but also because he was fair, and just, and good, and all the positive other things that be was (and did).
Otherwise it could be argued that someone who was in a coma all their life is as perfect as Jesus was (just because they never had the opportunity to sin).
I think for all of us its important to think not just "I better not sin", but to think what good things we could do (the opposite of sinning, instead of just not doing anything much and being 'neutral'). Lack of action can sometimes be a sin in itself (eg. not giving some of our money to the poor, or ignoring something bad that we could help change).

I read all the answers you have received and SJ was right on except for her last sentence that no one is born with sin. The Bible says that all have fallen short of the grace of God. That is why Jesus Christ died and payed the price that no one else was able to do. The righteous for the unrighteous. Every body is guilty and no one deserves salvation, that is why it is called Grace. When Jesus was tempted, He was tempted as a human, not as God. GOD CANNOT BE TEMPTED. If Jesus had to be the ransom, in order for it to be legal and binding, He had to be fully human. Satan knew all this, that is why he tried to tempt Him, and Jesus did not use any means that is not available to the rest of us. He used Scripture. Let all of us be grateful for God's grace and mercy and ask His Holy Spirit to be our only teacher as we study His word. Remember that all this is nonsense and foolishness to all non believers. We have to be born again to know God and to understand spiritual things. When we are born of His Spirit, He lives in us and and He gives us understanding and wisdom when we ask Him. Jesus did live a perfect life in His humanity and even though no other human will be able to do this again, Jesus has done all once and for all. For His body, His Church. When God the Father looks at a believer, He sees us thru His Son Jesus Christ.

Jesus was perfect because He was sinless. Jesus was the Son of God, Jesus was God! God needed a perfect sacrifice in order to forgive our sins in the past and in the future! In the Old testament they had to sacrifice animals constantly. This way we do not have to keep sacrificing for our sins. We are forgiven because Jesus died for us on the Cross of Calvary!

In an effort not to over-answer, I'll make this short and to the point. The answer is NO. Jesus is perfect because He is God and God is incapable of sin. While on earth He existed dually as God and Man and thus did not sin.

Well, Jesus is God, therefore he is perfect. He is God the Son. There is one God, but three devine persons. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Its like a Clover, it has three leaves but is one unit. Or even better, God the Father has always been in Heaven. When he came to Earth he was known as Jesus, (God the Son) and God the Holy Spirit is when he died and went to Heaven. Hope this helps.
