The traditional way is to wear both rings on the fourth finger of the left hand. The wedding ring goes on first, then the engagement ring. The idea behind this is that the wedding ring should be closest to your heart.

You wear the engagement ring on your left ring finger before the wedding. During the ceremony, you wear the engagement ring on your right ring finger. During the ceremony, your groom puts the wedding band on your left ring finger (the theory being that once it goes on, it is closest to your heart and you are never supposed to take it off so everyone will always know that you are married). Then immediately following the ceremony, you put your engagement ring on your left ring finger with the wedding band.

Well you want the wedding band to be closest to your heart if you are going by tradition, so I would not wear my engagement ring on that finger that day. I wore mine on my right hand on the ring finger. However this did not work for me since my hubby presented me with another diamond ring before the ceremony. We decided to go ahead and see each other so we could get the pics over with. I ended up giving my engagement ring to my maid of honor to wear and then she slpped it to me right after the ceremony. Hope this helps. Good luck with your wedding. I am sure it will be perfect.

If there is an engagement ring and a wedding band, the band will go on the finger before the engagement ring. Note it is improper to wear the engagement ring to the wedding ceremony. Also, it is improper to wear other rings on that day as well. It comes off as being very pretentious and gaudy, and no bride wants to look that way on that day.

As you are walking down the aisle, you wear the engagement ring on your right hand so that your left ring finger will be bare. After you get the wedding ring on it, you move the engagement ring to the left hand, to the outside of the wedding ring.

The traditional way is to wear them on your left hand, with the wedding ring closest to your heart and the engagement ring on second. Have a nice wedding.

The wedding ring in american is worn on the left ring finger then the engagement goes over it. At the alter wear your engagement ring on your right ring finger then transfer it over to the left after the ceremony.

The proper ways to wear you rings are as follows...You DO wear your engagement ring, but on the ring finger of your right hand. After the ceremony, and after your wedding band is on, then you put your engagement back on. Technically, your wedding band goes closest to your heart, and your engagement ring is a "sheild". Good luck and congratualtions!

For the ceremony, have your hand that you will be wearing the wedding band on - bare. You can move your engagement ring to the right hand, or just not have it on at all. Once the wedding band is put on, then later you can move your engagement ring on overtop of it. Or, just wear the wedding band alone.
