We have faith that Jesus died for our sins, so that we may be forgiven. We need forgiveness because we sin (go against God's will). We have to learn the Truth (the Bible) so that we may apply it to our lives and not sin against God as much as possible.
Thanks for your time. Hope that clarifies it a bit.

Who said faith had nothing to do with truth? Christian faith is founded on God's truth and even though you can't prove a lot of the parts of the Bible nothing in the Bible has ever been proved to be false. Consider the cases of people like Lee Strobel or Simon Greenleaf. These two legal experts from different centuries didn't believe the gospel accounts and set out to investigate them so that they could provide the evidence needed in a court of law that would prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Christian faith was not true. Both men by the end of their investigations coverted to Christianity.

Testimony of the Evangelists by Simon Greenleaf (1783-1853)
Greenleaf, one of the principle founders of the Harvard Law School, originally set out to disprove the biblical testimony concerning the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He was certain that a careful examination of the internal witness of the Gospels would dispel all the myths at the heart of Christianity. But this legal scholar came to the conclusion that the witnesses were reliable, and that the resurrection did in fact happen.

Forgive me, but I must contradict you.
Faith and Truth are inseparable.
Faith dwells within the heart. The mind perceives it, beings it forth from the heart, and it radiates into the world through our actions and qualities. Without faith man is nothing more than a puppet on a string, carrying an emptiness within him that is as vast as the ocean.
So says a small Sufi student.........

Faith has everything to do with Truth who is Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Way, THE TRUTH and The Life. Faith is in the heart of the believer. Then it travels to the mind. God bless

Why do you think that having faith has nothing to do with truth?
Pontius Pilate once asked what is truth?
Since we cannot prove beyond a shadow of a doubt via science how this universe was created does that mean this universe is not real because there is no truth in its creation?
If you are really seeking truth, then I challenge you to earnestly ask God to reveal His truth to you.
In Jesus' name I pray.

two big words here: faith and truth. it's not that faith has nothing to do with truth, rather, faith goes beyond what is generally accepted as truth - man does not define what truth is, we are but witnesses to truth, and faith is merely letting truth be.

But it has everything to do with trust. And we trust God, so it isn't hard for us to have faith in him.
