I don't follow your thinking. The significance of God looking on the heart is that He does not choose people based on their appearance or external qualities the way many people do. Not all people are that shallow to only want to love the beautiful. Some of us try to reflect the character of Christ by viewing and loving others the way He does.

How do we love them? I suppose that we all have our way to show love. One little thing I do is give a thimbs up no matter if I disagree with the asker or not. That's only one reason why I do that. If that is the case. you know that love between humans is a choice., You choose to love. If in the developing of that love you change your mind then you choose to not love someone.
When people marry They should know that as you get to know your mate you will have to adjust you love to the changes. On the other hand if you do not adjust to love you will find yourself not in love.
To be loved you must learn to love yourself--the way you are --adjust what you need to adjust and move on. My wife and I have been married 45 years. We have had to adjust to changes to allow Love to grow.
