Absolutely. We often learn the truth of a matter the hard way. We may take something for granted, although in our minds we may have nagging thoughts that something is wrong. Then a truth is expressed to us about the situation and we get the "Aha!" moment. Then we embrace the truth and it changes the way we see that situation or concern.
The Gospel has been used many times to explain why things are going wrong. Many couples understand themselves better after a marriage counselor opens the Word to them about God's role for them in the family. Then they see the error of their ways and choose God's way of life.
Experience is a great teacher, especially the experience of failure.

Not if GOD has blinded them.
2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Religious belief stems from imprinting at susceptible ages and causes a rewiring of the brain. Once rewired the brain no longer is capable of questioning or critical thought.

Do they believe a lie, simply because YOU believe it to be a lie?
What if THEY think YOU are believing a lie?

Yes, Unfortunately it IS possible.
God has given all fo us - 'Free Will' and 'That' does last throughout our lives.
Even Jesus Himself - Warned ALL of us - we can be taken OUT of the 'Book of Life!'
Be at Peace - Grace Unto You - Take Care and God Bless!

Truth is relative; it is a point of view. If there was such a thing as an absolute truth, we would instinctively know it. We would be unable to deny it.

yes, but you need to be sure that you know the truth, and not a lie, before you preach it.
