If it's the transmission ID tag you are referring to, it's located on top side of the bellhousing (or torque converter housing) with a number similar to F78P-7000-BA along with a bar code and serial number. For your information, Windstars from model years 1995 to 2000 all use the AX4S transaxle. 2001 to 2003 model years use the AX4N transaxle. Hope this helps.

Most times the ID of the Transmission is located at the bottom of the Vehicle information lable on the Drivers door jam.

On the transmission...look at the transmission pan.
around the pan there should be a casting of the transmission that stands out...this will have #'s stamped on it. this will be your transmission ID.
Another way to find out is to write down the VIN# located on the dash on the drivers side. Look through the windshield on the drivers side...you will see the VIN # there...take that # to your dealer and they can tell you everything about your vehicle.

depending on the year model, but common to be a metal tag attached to transmission with housing bolt...but if you don't want to try and find it...email me with the year, make a model, and i will tell you what tranny it is...gotspeed7883@yahoo.com
