Some women shave their pubic area because it looks more attractive to them, sometimes to some men, to do so. There is also the reason of oral sex. Most men don't like going down on hairy pubic areas. Also, hair holds odor. Women who shave, whether it's just trimming down all over the area or shaving down to the skin in whatever desired patterns, significantly cut down on any odors. But to the women that are reading this, the more hair you have, the more infections can be kept at bay. Just as our nose hairs aid in keeping infections from traveling inside of our bodies, so does pubic hair. Don't believe me? Ask an experienced doc. He/She should tell you that it helps. But still, no matter how we "style" our pubic hair, keeping the area clean with soap and water daily is of huge importance in staying clean and infection free.

There are many reasons including vanity. However, many girls shave so that when they wear their bathing suits, there is no unsightly hair hanging out where it shouldn't be. Also, some men prefer less hair down there as hair gets in the way during oral (you know it's true :-) ).

Guys like it shaved because it reminds them of the young girls they used to play with.

well to look good in a bathing suit for one. i don't wanna see another girl's bush hanging out. it just feels comfortable to have it shaved instead of all hairy.that's gross. just shaving it to leave a little line down the middle. hehe. for me it is a must a good hygiene. btw it's vagina

Because it grosses us out and guys don't like it. I wax or shave all body hair except what is on my face (eyelashes, eyebrows)

probably a mix of looks, comfort, enjoyment and mostly because they want to. hell guys shave their equivalent parts too.
