It ended when religious books written by men decided to end it.

My theory is that in the times before Christ the Holy Spirit was not on earth but momentarily. That's why there were supernatural occurrences like that. When the Holy Spirit came into the world after the resurrection it dissipated but I have read many stories of things like this happening even now, although they are in countries that are more pagan [ no offense intended to anyone]. Those are instances when the Spirit needs to come through in a big way. There are miraculous healing still that can't be explained . The only talking animal I have seen lately is the a** I see here sometimes. I did have a friend once who saw a talking raccoon when they were tripping.

I do not know about you, but I see animals talking all the time here in R&S. Well, at least they make about as much sense as an animal.

I thought you wanted to teach people about the true Jesus. If you want to make them care, you need to first care yourself and quit rubberstamping religion as rediculous and all about animal's talking or some other pointless debate.

We have entered into the biblical dark times when God no longer communicates or proves his existence with miracles and talking animals. This is the time of the Saints. Those that come to him for no other reason than seeing the truth and having faith in that truth knowing Jesus Christ was innocent and righteous. But by the power of corruption, now Satan comes to us as a wolf in sheep's clothing and corrupts what the average person sees as Jesus. Modern Christianity.

God doesn't need animals to speak, he has said all he has to say.

As far as I can recall, there were only two instances of animals talking in the bible (plus a burning bush, but it was clear that it wasn't really the bush talking, but God), so it wasn't like it was an everyday occurrence. As to why it doesn't happen anymore, who knows? Maybe it does, and you just don't hear about it. Or more likely, God simply doesn't see a reason to have them do so any longer.

I Believe that when God sent Adam and Eve from the garden of Eden, he also took away the ability of animals to speak. The one exception was Balaam and his donkey which it says that God 'opened the mouth of the donkey' for this one occasion. Satan had decieved Eve by talking to her and causing her to doubt and question the words of God. Part of the curse that came upon animals...such as the talking snake, was the inability to talk to people again...and to now crawl on its belly... The Bible does not say that this is what happened ....but because from that point on, no animals talk, it can be assumed.

The only 2 animals talking in the KJV
is the serpant that talked to eve and the donkey that corrected the prophet.
And that was just for gods purpose.

But animals communicate everyday, maybe not to people.

In our old stories, they say the animals and humans could talk to each other, but then the humans got uppity and started killing the animals. They created disease to get rid of the humans, and we've been at odds ever since. It's like estranged family members--they just don't talk anymore.

I think he realized that if other animals could talk, it might actually prove that he was there! We all know that God must remain hidden from the humans, otherwise how could we believe in him. Gosh you're silly!

Now that I think about it, if other animals could talk and you were born into a world like that. It would really prove jackshit about god existing our not, we're animals and we can talk.

Are you kidding? That's an example of God's mercy in action.

Would you want your Labrador or Siamese telling the whole neighborhood about the times you play "Simply Irresistible" on the air guitar while in your skivvies?

Wouldn't it make the TINIEST bit more sense to consider that maybe they never spoke and these couple of old legends are the ones that aren't true?

If you're too stubborn to consider that, may you find solace in Aesop's fables. There are tons of talking critters in there.
