Running, or roadwork, is one of the most important exercises a Boxer can do. However, for me it was one of the most dreaded deeds of any routine. However, discipline will prevail.

A lot of boxers give themselves pretty tough shedules, and I remember reading that Chris Bryd gets up as early as 4am to do his early morning roadwork (possibly because they find this sort of time to be very pleasant and serene). A lot of boxers will run anything between 2 or 3 miles easy, up to about 8 or ten miles. In fact, before Herman Ngoudjo turned to boxing, he used to run marathons.

I believe George Foreman used to run 3 miles a day in his first run, and by his return to boxing, he was doing 5-10 miles, depending on the day.

Juan "Baby bull" Diaz does mostly swimming, and also some treadmill and stairclimber.

I don't know if he still does it anymore, but the book 'Workouts from boxings greatest champs' says that Roy Jones Jr ran 3-5 miles 5 or 6 days a week.

In training for the upcoming fight with Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather Jr (at 150 Ibs) ran a mile in just under 5 minutes (or so he says).

I know Pacquiao runs 3-4 miles everyday around Griffith Park in Hollywood. I think he does it in around 30-35 minutes, depending on his mood for the day. Remember that Griffith Park is a hilly terrain so he runs much slower. Give him a flat surface and he'd easily do it in less than 30 minutes.
