All of the composite jacks (audio r-l + video) on my TV are all being used by other devices. All I have left are component jacks (Y/Pb/Pr). Can I somehow connect it using my audio/video cables?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks so far for the answers. I would like to add that I do have component jacks on my DVD player, however, I was trying to avoid having to purchase any additional cables, as I don't even know what to buy. I just thought I could use my existing A/V cables to run to my TV component jacks from the composite jacks from my DVD player. Is it even possible to use A/V cables from DVD component jacks to TV component jacks? Thanks!

There's an even easier solution. You have a three cable bundle with a red white yellow end right? Use them as your composite cable. You just have to remember which colors go to which one. It should work ok. It may not be the BEST quality, but it should work. This is for video only though.

Recap. - Take the r/w/y cable, and fool it into believing it's a component cable.

You need to reconsider how everything is hooked up to your plasma TV! Although it probably looks good, A/V cable is on the bottom as far as providing a great video signal to your TV. At the very least you should upgrade to s-video cable or spend a bit more for component video. If your DVD player supports progressive scan I would go for the component video cables.

Progressive scan via component cables will give you the best possible analog signal for your plasma tv set.

Your DVD Player should have either Component, Composite, DVI, or HDMI outputs. If all you have is Composite you might have to disconnect something or buy a high quality DVD player. If you have an A/V Receiver that has Up Conversion you can hook it up to the receiver and then connect the component from the receiver to the Plasma. This also means you will have to always have your receiver on to watch a DVD.

Good Luck.

All dvd players have component jacks, so there isn't any reason you can't use component. If for some reason your dvd player does not, then you just can't hook it up to the tv if you only have component left.

if you want a good picture on HD you should use either component ( 3 jacks red blue green), HDMI or DVI.

of options above you only have component so use it on your HD player, otherwise your picture will suck. you can hook red and white audio cables from DVD to HD but don't connect the yellow video from DVD to HD if you want a good picture.

You can buy a composite video switch (2-4 inputs, one output); however, it will be cheaper to buy a DVD player with component out. Your video quality will be better as well.
Just buy the cheapest DVD player with component out - they all use the same chips anyhow!
