It would help if you told us why you don't like to be around them, the real thing is your motivation. Is this something you learned by a bad experience?

Probably yes. Have they ever done anything bad to you? My guess is not, but even if a black person has done something bad to you, I suspect that you have had more bad things done to you by white people. The true test is this, it's ok to not like to be around certain individuals (regardless of race), if you have a reason. But if you don't want to be around anyone from a race for no good reason, you are probably a racist. Oh and it's ok to have your opinions but just don't do anything to hurt other people (including discrimination). There is no reason to not be civil to one another.

Yes. It is a generalization.
It is not racist to not like being around John Jones and his wife and their neighbors, etc. But when you go beyond specific people and start generalizing about ALL black people just because you don't like certain ones, then yes, that's the definition of racism.

No it isn't... I dont like being around "gangsters" the black people that get sucked into the stereotypical rap culture bullsh**. I love spending time around the part of my family that is black. They are not consumed by hip hop culture tho. But on the other hand I hate the white people consumed by hip hop culture also.

Not if you are brown, white, or some other color other than black. The well known adage-"birds of a feather flock together" is a natural happening. It is also not racist for blacks to not to want to be around other colors.

I think what's important is to first identify the reason why you're uncomfortable around us. Other than that, you've basically been taught to fear us by some negative experiences from just a couple of black people.
There's got to be a reason why you're threatened by us.

No! Is it sexist to not like to be around women? However, one should not generalize an entire race for a dominant trait; but there is obvious cultural differences. It is not racist to "typically" favor one group.

Did you really have to ask that question? How old ARE you? There's no law that says you HAVE to be around anyone at all but with your attitude so far if you are around black's they may just give you a REAL reason to not want to be around them. Grow up already.

That depends on how you want to look at it:
By definition, not wanting to be around black people, because they're black, would most certainly be racist.
Now if you don't relate to them or they make you nervous or something to that effect, that's your choice and you're free to think that way.
But try not to discriminate based upon race. In every ethnic group there are worthless people and wonderful people.
