Which one should I do tonight, I can't make up my mind. I can't do both, that results in like... death.

So, which one?

I know this doesn't belong in the religious section, so how about I ask if its a sin as well? There now its religious in nature as well.

Katrina - I'm not considering suicide, not even close. I just like alcohol and sleeping pills. I said I wasn't going to do both at the same time to avoid dying.

what is this crap about having one life to live to don't do drugs? Drugs are fun, having fun is part of life, I'm living.

btw, I'm not going to take the sleeping pill to sleep, I'm going to take it and stay awake to get a high off of it.

The problem with alcohol is that, while it aids one in feeling tired, it actually disrupts restful sleep stages, especially REM. That's why feeling wiped-out, drained and beat are common effects of hangover...even after 10 hours of sleep.

Sleeping pills, under professional supervision, are probably a better alternative, just avoid that over-the-counter crap which is only antihistamine that will leave you feeling groggy and "over medicated."

As far as the question of "sin," it depends on the religion. Christians certainly like their booze, Jews as well. Alcohol is supposedly verboten by Islam but, as the Koran only mentions wine, quite a few Islamic leaders are known to take refuge in expensive Scotch. Mormons are not supposed to drink, either. And between you and me? There's nothing better than a night with a Mormon college girl after she tastes her first Daiquiri (all the young Mormons love Daiquiris for some reason; this should be studied by Yale Divinity School).

BTW: Mixing sleeping pills with booze doesn't always result in "death." In my case, it most often results in calling ex girlfriends at 3AM. Death might be better.

If you really need help sleeping, try reading. It makes the eyes "tired" while it helps you down-shift from more interactive pastimes, such as this one.

Whether it's a sin. Yes. A lecture you want, but a lecture you won't get because only one answer will suffice. "God" in heaven regards all life, even the ones of those who reject him as "important." Murder, including that of your own is "unforgiveable" to him. You are right the results of a pill or alcohol is much like death for it is a means of escaping reality and have to ask yourself, what is so awful that you wish to escape it? This answer comes from someone who spent 19 years "each and every day" practically using drugs or alcohol to "escape" into, and yes many times wound up close to death, ONCE "in" death. That one experience changed my life because GOD in heaven "transformed" me into giving a damn about myself, and TOOK my addictions from me AND the attitudes that life isn't worth anything. Even the DEAD don't wish to be DEAD, and I ask you if "death" seems so appealing, where did you learn what is like on the "other" side? Have you seen "hell?" I can ATTEST by all the NDE'S I have had when I used, you don't want to whine up there. Even as a "spirit" you take your "senses" with you and are tortured to no end by the worse of the lot there for you will be their SERVANT. I "pray" that you will concider the fact if what you want is ESCAPE from the agonies of this world, to consider killing one's self, DOESN'T end them, it is only the START of even worse one's in the next world...If GOD helped me, and I was totally immersed in addiction at one time, he will help you. All you need do is ASK..............

How about a warm drink or something to eat instead? I think it would be wonders for ya in the long run. As far as Sleeping Pill vs Alcohol, there both addictive, and addiction could be consider gluttony, too much of something. So yes.

I would just take a sleeping pill tonight, and tomorrow I would suggest you get alot more exercises. That will make you tired. Believe me, and it is also healthy for you. I have taken Tylenol p.m. Just don't make it a habit. Your body will depend on them to fall asleep. Good luck!
