1.) Have you learned anything from R&S?

2.) Has R&S changed your opinions about anything?

These things don't have to be big things, they can be small things.

1) Yes, of course.

2) Yes. Judging from the hate mail I get... my opinion of atheists has definitely changed. I have never gotten a single piece of hate e-mail from an atheist.

The amount of hate e-mail I get from Christians is mind-boggling!

I have learned that I am not alone. Where I live I would probably be hanged on the town square for admitting to Atheism or even doubts about religion in general. I have noticed that people from all different religions are trying to say the same thing, and some of the answers are a hoot they make my day

1. I have learned that there is no limit to human stupidity, but also that there is no limit to humans' nature to teach.

2. I take everything I read with a grain of salt, as everyone should, but I would be a stubborn liar to say that reasonable light has not been shed on me on the sheer diversity of cultural, emotional, and spiritual aspects of religions worldwide.

Now, I might be a little too young in my experiences here at answers, but it's easy for any rational human being to appreciate what can be learned here even at our lowest moments (often in the middle of the night when everyone posts their most outrageous of questions, lol).

But you know what? That's what I love about it here.

Damn straight, I'm a regular.

1) Yes, I have learned about the nature of man's diverse beliefs.
2) Based upon questions that I read here, I understand that man's problems are much more dire than I might have otherwise thought.

There are bigots here, racists, hatred, and everything else one finds out in the world. But the most disturbing thing I'm seen is an overt contempt for God & religion. Many here are faithful believers, but the vast majority seem critical of all religions.

1.) I've learned more about how other people view the world than I did before I began Y!A. Also, I think that I understand how I think better because I am able to be confronted with questions I wouldn't normally ask myself on a regular basis, which gives me more time to think about it.

2.) Not all religions are created equally and that is something people don't talk about a lot. There are not Buddhist monks strapping bombs to their chest and walking into buildings. I have become afraid of the religions of Abraham (Judaism, Islam and Christianity).

1. I've basically learned two things from this section: some people really want to learn about other religion and that some people are really ignorant.

I never mind explaining something about my religion, Islam, to a person who really wants to know something. I in fact like it because I like helping people out (explaining things). But what I don't like is when people attack Islam based on lame judgments.

2. Umm, no, I don't think that my opinions have changed at all.

I haven't been frequenting this place for too long, but I'll go ahead and say that I've at least learned what other people are thinking and where they're coming from. Even if I don't change my own opinions, I gotta know everyone else's. After all, we've all got to live together on this planet.

1) yes, I have learned that people can be very mean spirited and don't care who they offend with senseless insults.

I've also learned that atheist/evolutionist don't even bother to give ANY time, let alone EQUAL time to intelligent design. They just believe anything they are told that OPPOSES a belief in a higher power. Their ignorance is amazing, and with that ignorance they insult others who don't agree with them. They also believe that all people who believe in God are idiots, uneducated fools.

I just can't get over it, I never dreamed that people could be so nasty and mean.

So as far as my opinions changing, yes, there was a time when I believed that atheist and evolutionist were generally good people who just happened to disagree with me, as a Christian. Today, as you can tell, I have can see how wrong I was because, NOT ALL, but many atheist/evolutionist are rude and mean spirited.

Thanks for asking!

Yes,
1.) That there are a many more religious fanatics, bigots and hate mongers out there than I thought.
2.) It has only changed, for the worse, my opinion of my fellow human beings.
I can not accept that I am of the same species as these hate spewing zealots.

I have learned a great deal here. I knew nothing about atheists before coming here. I knew very little about Buddhism and Wicca before here. I have learned a lot and met some wonderful people of all beliefs.

It changed my opinion about atheists. I now know them to be intelligent and kind people who just have different beliefs than some of us.

I have seen the fundies and their bigotry. I have no respect for fundamentalists of all religions.

1) that there are people who come here to mock or complain and some to be angry or just plain mean but there are people who genuinely want answers
2)yes, that there is a whole range of Catholics....some dont know how Jesus saves. That the muslims have no care that their prophet was from a pagan town and that the religion only has the testamony of one prophet.
That athiests love to talk about religion and they dont realize they have faith in the evolution theory so they too have a religion....religion of Monkey Myths....lol
