Why do satanists use the word "satanist" to describe their religion if they don't believe in satan? The word satan was derived from the bible. I know some do believe in him, but what about the ones who don't?

Where is the evidence that satanists do not believe in Satan?

Why would anyone want to call themselves a satanist, if they did not believe that the power of Satan was superior?

I just always believed that a satanist was a believer in Satan.

They don't. Read LaVey's books, he goes into more detail about it there. They worship Satan as he is the opposite of who is worshipped in Christianity (other devils from other religions are also called upon as fits the specific case). They feel that religion has been used to supress man's natural desires, which they feel should be embraced and not shamed.

Satanists (LaVeyan Satanism anyway) believe that everyone is their own god.
